I have five of these gorgeous anthias (Flavoguttatus) but i cant find Any info on how to Tell males and females apart. Anyone here that has knowledge of this..
Unfortunately, IME, the flav's are one of the nastiest anthias species out there in terms of conspecific aggression. Our trio was fine for awhile, then picked each other off in true anthias fashion until one was left with half a tail that never grew back. We've kept trios of lyretails and blotched with no troubles for several years in the past.
To answer your question, Other than size and "authority", I can't really say that I recall the dominant fish looking much different than the others...
