abyall Hey!! Nice to hear from you!! Great shots of your RSM & corals!! Beautiful growth and I love your wide range of corals. Everything looks very healthy & happy. Do you clean your glass every day ... & what do you use? I clean mine every day or 2 (at the most) with a mag float.

Reefmack: Your tank is beautiful. Your lights are definitely allowing you to keep some very nice corals.. The Digitata(s) are lovely!! I love the Blasto ... gorgeous colors. Did I count 5 fish, or is someone hiding?

Reefmack: My male clown is always nipping at my hand ... I never go in there without latex gloves. :D Honestly, I think he could do some damage with those sharp teeth of his!!

Donna - thanks. I was getting ready to reply a while ago and a storm coming through cut the power here - thunder, lightening, poring rain and even some hail. At least the power was only off briefly! We really need the rain since we're still under severe drought restrictions.

You should be able to have Montipora under the RSM lights and folks are often successful with even the Acropora under RSM lights. The Montipora SPS (plate, encrusting, and branching types) are not as difficult or demanding as Acropora, and can be quite colorful as well. A couple fish were missing in the picture - the Foxface was just a yellow blur above the blue damsel, and the lawnmower blenny was out of sight somewhere. I was trying to get pictures without the fish - I was only semi-successful LOL! I agree on how clean the glass is on Abyall's tank - it's all I can do to scrape it off the front and most of the 2 sides, but it's now on so thick on the back of the sides that my arm wears out before can work on it. I'm happy if I can just get the front and most of the sides clear of the stuff. The back I hardly ever even attempt. Those territorial clowns don't help either - I'd rather leave the coralline than injure them.

donna53w I only have to clean the glass once a week I use a kent glass cleaner with a stainless blade thanks.

Abyall - thanks. I use the Kent steel blade scrapers too, but I guess a once a week scraping is what it takes - not something I'd look forward to though. I'm lucky I find the time & energy to do my weekly water change! I know the trick is to keep after the coralline till it gets a foothold - something I haven't been doing.

GDESQUIRE - thanks for the info. on the Aqua Medic scraper. I think I'll order one. If it works better than my Kent SS scraper it'll be worth it. The SS tablespoon works great on those rounded corners - it's still work, but a lot easier for me than the straight edged scrapers.

DontXTripNfalll Thanks for sharing your pics. :) Your tank is looking really good. Do you find that your anemones travel around the tank?? Beautiful clowns in the last set of photos. Are you planning on putting 2 different types of clowns in the same tank?

My RBTA wandered around in that corner only for about a week then settled in and hasn't moved since. The PTGBTA is in the holding cage where the Black Clowns are since it is going to a friend. The Clowns seem to be sleeping near it from what I could see this morning so in the future I will probably get a clone for them of that PTGBTA for them to host

Yep I'm mixing clowns. They are getting used to eachother by staying in the holding tank. The orange clown went up to the cage on the first day and tried to intimidate them but he hasn't bothered them anymore.

Thank you! I thought that looked like the frag rack right by the returns. Can't wait till he gets back to ask a few questions and lay on some praises!
Yes, Thanks a lor Terry!
I'm back so ask away, I love to answer questions!

GDESQUIRE: Thanks for the scraper info! So far I've kept the coraline growth on sides & front of tank under control by using a regular SS razor blade now & again. Every day or 2, I get a light algae film on the glass & that I clean with the mag float. On water change days, I scrub the walls & corners with a double sided sponge.

Reefmack: We had a huge storm blow through here last night at 10:30. We also had weather warnings of severe thunderstorms, hail, high winds, tornado watch!! We ended up with a good dump of rain (which was great because I fertilized the lawn yesterday!!) and a strong wind that blew our patio furniture from one end of the deck to the other!!
Thanks for the info on keeping montis & acros. I really appreciate the good info you pass along to the rest of us!! I had an acro that was supposed to be blue ... it was in the store ... it was white in my RSM. I haven't tried any since then.

Nice looking anemone! How long have you had it?

Are the pair of maroons and the percula clown in the same tank now? Any signs of agression toward each other. Mixing different species of clownfishes are usually risky especially with maroons - they're one of the more agressive ones.

I've had the RBTA since 5/28. The PTGBTA was a few day before the Black Clowns.

They are all Ocellaris Clowns, or false perculas as some say. They are all about 1 inch in size. The holding cage has worked wonders and they are almost ready to be released to the regular tank. (Which I plan to do at night just so they have a chance to grab up space while the orange clown is sleeping in the RBTA)

Thanks to all for the compliments!

Abyall and Terry - Looking great!

Aaron Peer - LOL Unusual in a good way or bad way!? I have a tendecey to be different. X.x

Note: I posted a picture of the birdsnest that are growing on my frag rack. The green has grown well but the pink has grown incrediably fast, all the of smaller branches are new growth. Im surprised no one had commented on my SPS'.

DontXtripNfall - the JBJ scraper looks nice, but I just ordered the Aqua Medic scraper, based on GDESQUIRE's recommendations & a few reviews on it. I think it will take off tough coralline much better than the stainless steel bladed Kent scrapers I have. The SS blade on the kent tends to bend and get out of shape. I think the bigger, sharper, tougher blade on the Aqua Medic should be better for me. I ordered extra blades too. I'll be ready to attack the coralline again soon!

Ahh... we all can't wait for the day when the coralline shows up, and end up begrudging the same day.

Kinda like the addage about boat ownership!

xdfireguy - you're right - you'll eventually wish that coralline only grew on the rocks. When you arm gets sore trying to make your tank visible again, and when all of your tank pictures take on a pink cast, you'll know it's time to hate the stuff.

Get an urchin and you'll have no coraline in your tank

Brent - I'd considered an urchin but with so many corals on just about every inch of my rock I'd think that it would be knocking things off all over the place as it traveled around.
