Mrs. Peer - it took my rics a few months to split, so 3 weeks may be asking for too much too soon. They'll get more than one mouth developed before they eventually split, and can go quite a while with multiple mouths before splitting into separate polyps.

brycek - unfortunately I think the RSM fans are a 50mm size, and most of the quiet, higfher quality fans are only in 60 mm sizes. Maybe someoine else can confirm the 50mm size, but I'm pretty sure that's correct.

Last month my light fans broke, so I went out to Fry's Electronics and bought two 50mm square, 15mm thick, 12V, 0.16A fans and they fit perfectly. You may want to try and go to your local electronics store.

I really want to keep the chiller in my RSM cabinet. This 1/4hp really needs air circulation and I would hate to confine it to the small RSM cabinet. If I get a smaller one I can keep it in the cabinet, correct? Also, concerned about the gph as Tylt33 mentioned.

It is hard to pass up but still $100 more than I can buy a 1/15hp for.

Has anyone using an ATO pump, somehow used same pump for chiller?

Well I bit the bullet on the 1/4 Current Chiller. Does anyone have any photos of their chiller install on the RSM? I would guess I get a submersible pump to push the water to the chiller and back around to the same compartment (next to the heater).

GPH Specs for the chiller are 540/960.

Any tips on what pump to use? Something quiet?

Thanks for the fan information. I am just going to see what Pinky at Red Sea has to say in the morning. I WISH there was a FRY's around here I miss that place so bad unfortunately there is nothing like that here in Pittsburgh.

Have you try any computer store to see if they have some fan that might fit?
Good Luck

Does anybody have any thoughts on CADLIGHTS Aquariums? I have been giving it some thought today about getting another cube and looking at everything online I like the CAD 39 gallon that is their newest one. If I would have seen them before I got my MAX I probably would have gotten one.

brycek - you should put your location (Pittsburgh, PA) in your Reef Central profile - it can help others help you better by knowing where you are, such as a local source of fans. As Arreola said - maybe a computer store? Radio Shack maybe?

I've looked at the Cadlights too, and they have some nice features built in. None of the all-in-ones are perfect, so I'm not sure what the faults are with the Cadlights, but I assume it has it's own problems. Do some searching & look for reviews.

Mister Chips - I'm guessing that a pump with the gph needed for the 1/4 hp chiller will be too big to fit in the back of the RSM, but I'm not sure. You may have to plumb the chiller pump up externally.

I'm not sure if I announced this but I've added a Koralia 2... It gives the anemone great movement with the help of the 2 stock PH's since it gets blown from side to side. The flow hasn't seemed to bother it though since it hasn't adjusted its footing. My only problem now is the surface oils don't collect easily without flow breaking the surface near the gate. I really don't want to add another PH for that and I wouldn't want to change the flow patterns since the RBTA looks amazing how it is. Is surface oil really that much of a big deal?

ReefMack, I thought my location was on my profile, it is now. Thanks. Just got off the phone with Pinky and she is sending out the fans to me.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Am I correct in thinking the hose to the chiller and hose back to the tank both originate in the same compartment in the RSM? There isn't much room to do much more is there?

I was hoping I would get a few photos of how other members set up their chillers. I am sure it is easy and I am over engineering things in my head.

DontXtripNfall - Other than most considering the surface oil/scum unsightly, I think it may decrease gas exchange between the surface of the water & the air - oxygenation probably being the most important to the fish. Just an educated guess. It also consists of things that you rather remove from the tank.

brycek good news on RS getting the fans on the way to you.

Mister Chips - No chiller here, but I think you're correct on the placement of the inlet & outlet pipes to the chiller. I know some have put one in the heater chamber and the other somewhere in the skimmer chamber, or both in the skimmer chamber on opposite sides of the RSM skimmer, but the placement varies. Hopefully you'll get some better answers from those running a chiller.

Mr Chips...the inlet and the output/return would go to the same place in the rear compartment, although I would place the output/return down into the heater compartment. The chiller is going to be loud, relatively speaking, so it will take some getting used to when it is running. It won't run very often though. If you can, plumb in through the wall behind the tank to a room you don't use often, if this is possible. Mine (a 1/10HP) is plumbed through the wall into my laundry room. As for the pump a good, quiet, reliable and inexpensive pump for that size chiller would be an Ocean Runner 2500 on the low side or a 3500 on the high side. If you find this chiller is too big for you, I have a PCI 1/6HP on my 90 that I might be willing to do an even swap on if yours was not too old and in good working order. Mine is 3 months old and is a little under-sized for my 90 (although it is supposedly rated for it and then some). I live in Pembroke Pines.

LPS (still lurking but really busy)

I just got an e mail from marine depot. In regards to my nano doc 9002 being on back order still. They asked me if I would opt for another skimmer in the mean time. LOL. Does anybody know of another skimmer that would fit in the skimmer compartment on the RSM?
