GDESQUIRE - I get confusing information on the Vortech from different sources:
Foster & Smith: "Flow rates are completely controllable between 500 to 3,000 gph; for aquariums from 20-500 gallons..."
Marine Depot: "Operating on tanks between 20 and 500 gallons and producing between 100 and 3,000 gallons per hour of flow..."
Koralia 1: 400gph, Koralia 2: 600 gph
Even at the 500gph that would put the low end of the vortech midway between a Koralia 1 & 2. 500gph in a 20 gallon tank would seem a bit much to me!
But I wonder if running the Vortech at the lowest setting might long term be bad for it.
Nice, but still too pricy IMO, and the lack of being able to adjust the flow direction is a negative to me.
JimDantin - your link takes me to a list of the forums? EDIT - I think I figured it out - Reef Central automatically changes links to most other forums into a link to their list of forums. I'm thinking you tried to link to a thread on the N a n o R e e f forum, or some other? Don't get me started on this topic - grrrr!
