Ok found the memory card LOL the cat was playing with it??????????
Anway here is what the skimmate looks like a lot lighter with the flash from the camera or maybe it is my eyes either way still better than anything I ever got out of the stock skimmer.

I agree - it's more than I ever got out of my stock skimmer also. It's still strange that some stock skimmers work & others don't. Cats will walk away with anything thety can carry LOL!

Terry - I didn't realize there were previous issues with the mods. My apologies if I sounded if I was taking sides. In the end I just want to see good reefers exchanging information in the hobby.

Mrs. Peer - no problem and I understood where you were coming from. I just wish there were more freedom on Reef Central to exchange good information available on other forums. I hope all is well with you folks, your tank and the fish & critters? Have you added anything new? Any new pictures? I think you were looking into getting some new camera gear? Lottsa questions eh? LOL

LOL! Not a lot of questions. The tank is going okay so far. I have not been adding a lot of corals or critters. I only have two true percs and they seem to only want to hang out in one area of the tank and it seems they've decided to host the sandbed. I'm still deciding on the next fish. I am thinking of a yellow watchman goby or a jawfish (blue-spotted or yellow head). What do you guys suggest?

Speaking of stock skimmer, although I don't have a lot of bio-load compared to the rest of you guys, but it's pulling a decent amount. I clean it out every week and next time I do I'll take a picture.

I've actually been dripping Kalk for the last two months and have not really dosed for Ca or Alk. The two parameters are good at 410 ppm and 9.5 dkh. The pH has been between 7.9 - 8.1. Although I still does magnesium as it's pretty low.

We've put off on getting a better camera until the end of the year. We got into an accident and had to spend a good amount of money to fix it. Long story and I don't want to bore you guys.

Brent - will do! To be honest, I've felt insulted and belittled every time I've dealt with the mod gods. The one that made that statement that you quoted is just one example of how ignorant and clueless some of them are.

Thank you for calling me ignorant and clueless.

Mrs. Peer I hope no one was injured in the accident. Sorry to hear about that. I just dished out $700 on getting my AC fixed the other day, and today the water heater quit and I can't get it restarted. At times the money goes out a lot faster than it comes in! I just switched over to the bulkreefsupply two-part from Kent Tech CB, and so far my parameters seem to have stayed the same for Ca & alk. Good to hear you got one the RSM skimmers that works well! On the watchman versus jawfish, do you have a deep enough sandbed for a jawfish? Brent had one, but I know he had a DSB in that tank. I have a yellow watchman in my little 9g tank - it tends to hide a lot, but is all over at feeding time - very pretty little fish.

Agu - you're quite welcome, since that's basically what you were calling me. I was just returning the favor! :) Have a nice day!

Vanessa Good job on getting Dorie out of the tank. Sad, but it was done for the well being of the fish :(

NaCl+H2O Fish Don't you know it was all just our imagination that I was ever listed as the starter of this thread beyond the first split. I guess we're all crazy. Here were the responses from the RC Mod Gods:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=13167960#post13167960

They once again closed a post rather than address the issues, but at least the Mod Gods admitted they have no idea how the software works. I wonder if anyone does? I've given up dealing with the Mod Gods - as in the past they are always correct, even when wrong. Sad situation that they treat members like we're a bunch of brainless idiots. Since you joined the thread after it split a few times, it was all just your imagination, and lack of paying attention, that makes you think you ever saw me listed as the thread starter. I'll just sit here now and wait for a PM from the Mod Gods telling me to stop the criticism or I'll be banned from RC, as if it's the only good forum around - there are many others that treat members with more respect than Reef Central. It won't be the first time I've received undeserved threats from them. They just cannot stand any criticism at all. I could care less if I'm no longer listed as the thread starter, but I do take offense to being basically being called a liar about this whole issue. According to the Mod Gods the only rights we members have on Reef Central is to leave and don't come back. What a wonderful situation!

This type of post is not acceptable. Personal attacks are not allowed on Reef Central.

I would suggest the thread get back on topic. If not, we can close the thread. It appears to be causing too much angst in its present form with the circumstances of the thread split.

It is amazing that RC has been splitting thread for years, and this is the first time anyone cared that their name was no longer attached to a thread.

Now that Reefmack has "Moved On" I would suggest this thread be closed.

The people that have posted on this thread have been very helpful to fellow RSM owners, especially Reefmack. I am surprised and saddened that it has come to such a sour ending.

So am I, but a quick look at some of the links he posted indicates someone who has serious issues with the way this board is moderated. It is one thing to voice a difference of opinion. It is quite another to do it in the insulting way he chose to.

Brent F - It was Reefmack that invited me here in early December 2007 and he and you as well so many others patiently answered all of my numerous "Newbie" questions..... You all have been a graduate level course in keeping an RSM! :D

So like you Brent... If Reefmack is banned from the thread he started on Reef Central that is OBVIOUSLY ENORMOUSLY SUCCESSFUL, I will also follow Terry to a THREAD ON A FRIENDLIER FORUM!!

Kent a.k.a. NaCl+H2O Fish

Let me make something clear. If someone engages in personal attacks, they will be warned or suspended. There is only one person responsible for the action taken regarding this particular member. If you support that type of conduct, that is obviously a personal choice.

Oh, and a "friendlier forum" probably doesn't allow its members to call others "ignorant and clueless".

I seriously do not understand the need for a fit over "ownership" of a thread. His 200+ posts and contributions to the thread were his credibility. The fact that his name isn't listed on the thread splits is a really, really silly reason to have a fit and start insulting the volunteers here. I mean, really....step back for a second and think about what he had a meltdown over....

I don't think the problem was over having his name on the thread splits, but the actual "thread starter". This looks like a misunderstanding, but we should all move on and hopefully this thread will remain as strong and helpful. He was very helpful.

It's too bad that a thread that has provided such great information has come to this.

Might I suggest putting everything aside and try to get back on track. When I owned my RSM this was the place to go for any information needed on these great little tanks. There are so many people that come here it would be a shame to see it just die off. Not to mention the new people that would benefit from it.

Hopefully everyone can overlook the thread starter issue and move on. I think the people that have been around awhile will always give credit to Reefmack for starting this thread.

On a different note-

I just picked up an Outer Orbit Pro Series HQI/T-5 combo light fixture.

I know people here run this light; I was wondering what kind of time cycles you are running? Should I run the actinics all the time?

I know some people run the actinics a short time before and after the Metal Halide bulb comes on to get more of a night/day day/night affect.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
