Red slime

Ok ... so I have a fugue that has had no issues for about 2 years ... so my wisdom was to get rid of all my cheato and scrub my refuge tank because I had pest in it and I was wanted to start over .... so with this said I got a big chunk of new cheato and my light and flow is the same and I got slime all over the cheato .. so never had this problem ever and was thinking to do salt water rinse on the macro or just let it run it's coarse. . Why now is there a cycle that is happening within the fuge that I'm not aware of and it building slime and bacteria with the 15 gal tank
Thanks Eric

Spitballing here, but like a skimmer has to break in with new plastics, my guess is after cleaning all the surfaces have to be "reset" themselves & you have a bloom of whatever. It should pass on its own.

Vinny that's what I was thinking all the bacteria has been scrubbed off

I was thinking the same as what you did I am sure was significant and as such had a profound effect on your tanks balance.
