I can't decide between the two a male red tail flasher wrasse or a scott's fairy wrasse from the cook islands.

I can't help you until Friday, but I have an Australian Scott's fairy wrasse coming in on Friday.

What size tank are you thinking about adding it into?

I got both and imo, I'll take the red tail flasher. My scott lost alot of his colors since I cant find him a female. Plus the scotts are much more aggressive

Well,if i am going to get the scott's fairy wrasse i'm going to put in a 300 gallon reef, the same goes for the red tail flasher if i get him instead.

I have at least 20 different types of wrasses in my 450g DT, including a Vanuatu Scotts, but for some reason I can not keep a Cook Is. Scotts, alive...I have tried at least 3 over the past 2 years, and for now have given up on it....
But I do think the Cook Is. is the nicest of the Scotts...

.

I'm no wrasse expert, but I think those are two pretty different fish (size/aggression) so your system/tank inhabitants might make the decision for you...

I love Scotts , but they are generally more aggressive than advertised. The Aussie I have now is gorgeous, but aggression about equal to a smaller version of a Thalassoma genus wrasse.
