i changed the board made it all thru hole components and fixed that missing trace for the next batch changed the switch to a more common one

lot of people will be happy with that just found out the rtc smd foot print is smaller than the thru hole one so I have o order a couple of them remember the good old days when radio shack carried all this stuff.

marspeed almost done with the stamp board the small pads in the top canter are for the 103 resistors ? just put to on there and done?

No they are for caps o.1uf you may not need them just good practice to aways include them for dirty power they smooth it out I put them on there for steve remember he was having problems

ahh ok you included extra stuff in the bag labeled chips I didn't know what all to use out of it and I got an extra chip for the nutshell board so I just put that one away for now and the 103 and led's are just extra?

did you include any of those caps in the stuff you sent me if not do I need to put any thing there or can I just leave those connections open like they are

I think I miss understood that the first time I read it I still have to put the o.1uf caps on the board weather I need them or not

You can leave them off but they help smooth out the dc voltage which can cause an ic to act erratic and half dozen other reasons

radio shack sells them so I will pick up a pack on the way to work that should take care of it just have to cut the leads back a lot they don't sell smd

I think I just figured out the white strip with the orange tape is he caps for the stamp board right ??

Rott there is a cap on the screw sheild in thr rtc circuit compair them the resistors are black in color

Rott you only need one cap on there not two does not matter which set of pads you use as I said befor they are there just in case of power problems and it is good practice to throw one on the +v of most chips note I said one some times two to of different values to smooth out high and low frequency

and it get's mounted to top 2 pads horizontally across from each other

yup I was right gets mounted across the two top pads and across the bottom two pads looking down at the board with the bnc facing you

yes, that is the correct crystal for the RTC
