Kevin,

You are doing a heck of a job at promoting this hobby, the club and reef-keeping in general. I just wanted to take a moment to say that to you and thank you on behalf of all of us reefers.

For those that complain about the frag pricing, good or bad, it is what it is. The market drives the pricing. If you have great stuff that is rare it's usually expensive. If you are selling common corals that can be found in almost all our tanks then the pricing will reflect it.

Bottom line is this will be the event of events in the reefing community with folks coming from all over the country to browse and observe and, yes probably purchase a few items to take back home. Let's all show them how seriously we take this hobby, behave responsibly, rationally and be good hosts.

Myself I'm looking forward to seeing and interacting with my friends in the hobby. Exchanging tall tales about how well my tank is doing and how little work it is to keep it beautiful.

We're going to have great speakers and you can't put a price on the collective expertise that will be in the room. I encourage anyone who is even remotely thinking of an aquarium to attend. Nowhere on earth can you get the collective experience in one place and have all your questions answered politely for a paltry $5 bill admission fee.

Kevin this is exciting and I see it as a huge success that will soon bring national attention to SCMAS and Reef-A- Palooza.

Saltnutz,
thank you so much for the kind words.
RAP planning has been keeping me so busy that I don't have time to stop and toot my own horn even if I wanted to! :(

I had a vision from the very beginning of what we needed in Southern California to take this hobby to the next level. I then develped a plan and then stuck to those goals regardless of the skeptics and naysayers. The only thing I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to see that day is GOBS of people coming to enjoy themselves for the day! Please, bring the whole family and get them involved....THAT, afterall, is what this is all about.

havent been to last yrs event but heard amazing things. as far as purchasing, do most vendors give out great deals on their equipments?

how are the livestocks selection and prices?

The most sought after corals will be there................prices on the "rare or unusal" stuff will be about normal, but common stuff can be had for as little as $5

If the doors open at 11, most of the rare stuff will be gone by 11:30..............However, the later you wait, the cheaper the prices get

Come to our July 20 meeting and ask them for yourself.
We'll have Joy Meadows (Head of Marketing) and Pat, one of the owners of PFO Lighting, Inc. presenting to SCMAS that night

Hello, I am new here. What is the meeting all about? Do you have to be a member to joint the meeting?

Thanks, Vincent.

SCMAS meetings are free to attend......................

Yes, there will be WiFi available at RAP.

Also keep in mind that Reef-A-Palooza 2007 is roughly 4X larger than SWCFM and last year's RAP! Believe me when I say that there will be more livestock there than anyone's seen in their entire lives.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

If anyone wishes to purchase ADVANCE TICKETS for admission to Reef-A-Palooza, you can do so by either purchasing them at the SCMAS meeting July 20 (only) or e-mail me at: SCMASPresident@aol.com
(Paypal accepted)

TWO BIG reasons to purchase in advance:
1) to avoid the long line of people waiting at the cashier
2) there with be a seperate "priority line" for holders of these tickets.
'tiss a good thing, it 'tiss ;)

A few more details regarding advance sales tickets:

1) Admission is only $5 for adults and children 12 and under are free

2) No need for will-call, pickup, or anything of that nature. I will mail your tickets directly to you, same day as the order

3) There is a quantity discount of 5 tickets for the price of 4.

In other words, if you purchase 4 tickets we will give you the fifth one for free automatically....If you purchase 8, then you get 2 additional tickets free, etc.

4) There is a very small surcharge of .25 cents per ticket to cover Paypal fees and postage.

Paypal to: quidproquo820@aol.com and make sure to include mailing address of where to send the tickets.

Believe me when I say that you will want to avoid the line at the cashier the morning of the event by taking advantage of this!
Its a bit more work on my end, but I am trying my best to make things more convenient for everyone.

Thanks,
Kevin T. Adams

REEF-A-PALOOZA 2007 IF OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!!!
Nice work Kevin!

That is an accomplishment you and the club should be very proud of.

does that mean that no body else can come or that no more venders can buy spots?>??

All 80 VENDOR BOOTHS are sold out, not admission tickets.

There is no limit to the number of attendees, so no worries. :)
we anticipate over 1,500 people there, not including vendors and staff.

Though, I do highly recommend purchasing "presale tickets" so you don't have to deal with the line at the cashier the day of the event. It is only 5.25 per ticket to order via Paypal....and there is a 5-for-4 quantity discount.
(example, 5 adult tickets are only $21.00 total / children 12 and under are free)

Paypal to: quidproquo820@aol.com and include mailing address; we mail the tickets immediately to you/no wait/no fuss/no hassle ;)
