reef and fish?

simple answer....yes. that is what we are all after!

The more complicated answer is it depends on the fish. There are some fish that are considered "reef safe" (won't eat corals or invertebrates) and there are other fish that will either eat corals or pick them until they are dead. Do a lot of research before buying any fish you want to place with corals.

Choosing fish based on compatibility with one another is something that is just as important. Some fish are very peaceful while some can be highly aggressive.

Always research prospective purchases to ensure that you can provide it the best care possible. It would be bad for you and the fish if you were to see that cute little sohal tang and bring it home only to find it grow up to be over a foot long and kill every other fish in your tank due to territory issues.

Read the "Initial Reef Setup" and "First Time" threads at the top of the "New to the Hobby" section. Then read them a second time, they will help, then come back with additional things you have questions about. Good luck, we're here to help.

+1

those are great i reference them all the time

I got into this hobby because of my boyfriend. Around March of last year he got a tank and set it up. After a while when he could actually start adding things and feeding them, I really started taking a liking to it and learned a lot from him. He gave me my own tank as a gift this past January and i've been coming on this site ever since. The references help out a lot. Also, reading everyones posts (even old posts) helps.

I have always found the people on this forum to be helpful and quick to answer any question you have.

Welcome!
