Have you guys used this?

I started adding to my 72 bow about a month ago and am just finishing up the bottle. What I can say is that my polyps have all grown more then they have in the last 10 months, and all of the ones that were melting are strong and happy. Im going to keep on it, but I thought I would put it out there...

i personally have never heard of it myself. could you please provide some more info about the product and exactly why you think it is working so well for you?

Brightwell makes it. Take a look on their website and read about it. I really was not getting much growth on, well... most anything. I had started doing a lot of water changes and trying many other things but my polyps just never seemed to multiply, and I had some that had closed up and were disappearing. The additional water changes helped a lot, but it wasnt until I started adding this biofuel for 2 weeks or so and it was obvious there is a big change. I have a friend using it now and he reports clearer water and more expanded polyps.

The bottle says it is beneficial to them but I was curious if anyone else had tried it. The LFS I got it from is using it now in the frag tank and he should have an opinion soon...

ahhh, now that i see it on that link i know what it is. i personally have never tried it. but keep us posted on how well you think it is working out for you. there are a few products out there that really do work and are worth the money.

I just bought some after reading this thread and giving it much thought. I've also heard that people that use it often swear by it.

i use it and swear by it
and will continue to use it
i just use only half the recommended dose and only dose 2x a week

faster growth well depends on what

algae non existent

Yeah my buddy now that started using this stuff "suddenly" had hiz Zenias that had 4 healthy large stalks split 3 times in a week. This type of growth never happened before... Now he has 7 stalks and they are awesome... Ill get some pics. Saw a lot of people using MB7 too so I got some this week. After two days now my skimmer has performed like it never has since I got this setup 9 months ago (it was 3 years established). I got more nasty crud today then I got in a whole week. Just my observations...

I have plans on vodka dosing and a bit of VC along with MB7 and going to go from there. The biofuel will be on the list after these get situated.

Thx for taking a leap and trying out somthing new!

Ok im starting the Biofel tonight. ill keep everyon up dated on zoo growth and if the colors gets brighter.

It says 1 cap full every 50 gal thats what i put, no more no less. It also says every day but i think i will go every 3 days to see what happens,

I think the extra "crud" is the biofuel being skimmed out.

Biofuel is actually an alternative to vodka. Its a carbon source which helps you maintain an ULNS (ultra low nutrient evironment). Basically its increasing the bacterial load in your tank, which eat the nutrients in your tank, then in turn die off and your skimmer can pull them out. The result is a NO3 and PO4 less tank. I wouldn't use biofuel in addition to vodka, but I use vodka and MB7 and they work wonders together.

In case anyone else is wondering, MB7 is by Brightwell and its called Microbacter7. What it does is adds beneficial bacteria to your tank.

Hope that info helps...

+1..just a more expensive alternative to vodka. Even says from brightwells site.. An alternative to adding flamable liquids to your tank. ( How many times has your tank caught fire?)
