Reef Bommie

Nice tank setup! How do you like the skimmer? I was about to purchase that kind but I am testing out the vertex omega 130.

I also want to purchase a pistol/goby pair but I'm afraid the shrimp will be to loud !

I´m very satisfied with the skimmer, only consider improved the sound of the air intake systems ... I'll put a vertex or bubble king resonator to silence it.
You should not worry about the sound of the pistol shrimp, only very occasionally will hear his sound, which is not so strong.

Hey Yano, do you mind getting a picture of your sump? Very interested in seeing it. :)

Following the introduction of the frags that I kept from my former aquarium, these are the first pieces of coral acquired for Bommie:

Three Aussie acropora frags: pink tips, green tips and selago yellow tips.

Referring to the tank, green algae have appeared in the sand and some patches of diatom on the rock so I can not light too until the system is sufficiently mature and the algaes disappear.

Hi Yano...
been following your tanks since the beginning here and in the Spanish forum. Your old tank was an inspiration for me and that's why I made my new tank with the same dimensions and similar kind of landscape. Now I see that you changed to a new landscape and it gives me mixed feelings because your old landscape was amazing!!

Subscribed to this new thread, for sure this one will be as perfect and beautiful as the old one!
Congratulations and good luck! :)

Thanks Marco is always a pleasure to know that my tanks can serve as inspiration for other aquarists in different parts of the world.
My taste for clean aquariums, with a minimalist style as well as by the SPS corals and small fish has not changed and probably will always be some of the hallmarks of my aquariums but all aquarist is evolving, and the challenge of trying new things add new concerns....my purpose in this proyect is to move towards greater naturalness.

That sump is awesome, I also love the shrimp/goby pair. Have you thought about some wrasses, they add some great color and movement to the tank.
