Reef Ceramics Questions???

Anyone use these?
how do they fair compared to LR? (weight, coraline encrusting)
are they solid or hollow?
are they made of ceramic or argocrete?

I am starting a large tank that will be all SPS and was curious as to how these compared. I know there are no bio. advantages compared to LR but I was more concerned with pest.

any input would be appriciated.

Ken "Konadog" has them as well as Chuck "Moonpod"

They are heavy and eventualy turn onto LR

They are solid

They are made out of a ceramil like material...

what more would you like to know...?

i cooked my LR in fresh water for 1 week to kill off all life... you could also use base rock...

Have you had any problems with pest? I was just concerned with eggs hitching a ride on the rock.
do you think the reef ceramics are worth the money?

hard to say they are worth the money when if you are only buying them to not get hitchhikers... Base rock is the same thing without the fancy design... are you looking into getting the ones that lay on the back of your tank..?

Those that have them love the look, but again they cost alot....

I like the look as well but just don't know if I want to spend that much for a dead base...
