If the name should go to on that isn't WV specific like coralreefer suggested, would those in the Northeast Kentucky Reef Association want to combine with this forum? I don't have a preference either way, just a suggestion.
Would those in SE KY and Souther OH identify with Appalachain? Could it cause confusion for people living in NC, VA, and TN?
Is Mountain State pretty much suggesting WV only?

I don't care what it is named. I would just hate to see this lost.

Appalachian represents the area better Mountain State is WV.
Another suggestion KYOVA is a common acronym for Ky OH and WV.
How about the forum formerly know as CVRC :lol:
Seriously the name isn't important other than it's something local RC people can use to find us and local is all three states.
I do agree it will be an association/group/society and not a club.

I must vote for locking the thread and leaving it as it is.
My reasons for this are.
1. This site gave this forum to the CVRC.
2. It is the product of the CVRC together, not as two seperate entities.
3. Why should something resulting from all of us, suddenly belong to only a few, who want to change the name of something, in order to keep it.
4. If you wish to have a forum here on RC, then do what it takes to get your own. But don't insist on taking something that belongs to everyone, and making it belong to only a few.
5. I am sorry the CVRC isn't good enough for you to grow with, but personally, I know our President, works very hard at keeping our club together.
6. I see this as just one more time, a few have tried to change the CVRC, to be what they personally want, rather than what is best for the club.
7. I think the club should keep this forum. Lock it, with a link to our new home. That would allow others, to find us through RC.
8. I don't think it was ever meant for the club, to disappear from this site, more it was to allow us, to do everything in one place.
9. We need to move in order to do this. RC has no open chat capabilities, as we now have and have had, for a very long time, now with the other site.
10. If I had to pay, to attend meetings or even annual dues, there were times, I could not have attended, many of the meetings, that I did attend. I just would not have had the money. And I know there are others, in our club who, must scrimp and scrap to keep their tanks going, who attend meetings, and take home knowledge, they would not otherwise have had.
11. This club, was always meant, to be kept totally free of charge, for everyone, regardless of income or circumstances.
12. The information posted in this forum, belongs to the CVRC, not some society, or whatever your group, decides to call itself.
13. I realize, there are certain members, of the CVRC, who were never happy, with the name, because they, did not consider that they, actually lived in Chemical Valley. But for those who do not realize this, Chemical Valley, actually runs the whole valley, from somewhere above Belle, West Virginia, to somewhere near, if not including, Huntington, West Virginia.
I will stop, with the reasons now, but I could list, many more very good reasons, for locking this forum, if I actually, took time, to think about it.
So I vote to lock this thread and leave the name as it is!

West Virginia Reef Society (WVRS) serving the Tri-State area including eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, and WV. I think we would be better found by having WV in our name. When ever I travel I always look on the internet AND RC to see what information I can find out about the area I am heading to. It is instinct to research the state your going to visit. We all know if we are visiting a state border town to research both or all the states we will be close to such as the case of being in Bluefield. I think we can cover our demographics in the title of the new name and still be able to be found by new hobbyist by looking at out name. Can we get that much information listed under our name as suggested above. Just my 2 cents. I will go with the majority. Please don't lock it down. We need the reference area and a line of communication open for all to discuss our hobby.
