Reef controllers

So I'm sure we've all heard of the Reef keeper and Apex, But are there any other good controllers out there? I know i have seen/heard of a few but haven't heard much about them... So if you have any experience with a not so common controller, Fill free to post about it!

Profilux, but it's kinda like having a BMW. You brag about how much you payed for it when a chevy does the same thing.

I like the Neptune aqua controllers. From what I've heard they have great customer service and are very easy to use. I've heard horror stories about Apex's customer service.

Digital Aquatics and Neptune are leading in popularity for a reason....value. As like anything both have advantages and disadvantages. I currently have DA's ReefKeeper II, when it dies I'm moving to the Neptune Apex for wireless access.

I think you mean you've heard horror stories regarding Digital Aquatics, the Apex is made by Neptune Aquasystems, and has exceptional customer service.

I've owned both a RK from DA and now an Apex. Both get the job done, I prefer my Apex for the web interface for all programming (natively), being able to check/change from my phone/iPad and the graphs; plus the ability to control things like my Vortechs.

Thanks guys,
I was interested in hearing if there were any others out there that is everything i want.
I'd like the Apex for the same reasons (web interface, etc) just don't have that kind of money for a controller.

It dpends a lot on waht you want to do and how much your budget is. Both DA and Neptune offer entry level systems for not a lot of money and a used AC jr can be had for <$100.

I've had both DA and Apex and prefer the Apex, but that's because of the customer service and web access, etc. Plenty of people like the DA. If budget is an issue, I wouldn't waste a lot of time looking into niche controllers like the Profilux - nice, but I don't think they really do anything the Apex doesn't and cost a lot more.

Oh no i wasn't looking at the Profilux :) I found one called Reef angel? If i remember right, seemed pretty cool it's opensource and it had built in wifi which is a plus, But ya i know Reef Keeper and Apex are both great units. I was just wondering if there was anything else worth looking at. I like the price of the reef keeper lite, But one of the main reasons i want a controller is to check on it while i'm not home and being able to fix anything over the internet like you can with the Apex.

I had an old Octopus 4000 which was actually quite good. I just upgraded to the Apex, this past weekend for that matter. I really like the apex, great controller for the money. Also, good to know, there is a really good app for my Droid X for Apex. You don't have to have to be a Steve Jobs groupie to get a great app for your phone. I had no problem setting it up and understanding the programming language. I have had fun with the web interface and the phone interface. Good value, I am glad I purchased it.
