Reef Depot

From what Criccio posted maybe the deals at Reef Depot are more softy based? A lot of people posted on this thread that I do not recognize. Maybe some people can post some SPS prices for what they bought?

Alky69 if your looking for blue SPS I was at Reef Plus today and they had a few. Also Oceans floor had some too. I did pick up a birdsnest colony from Oceans floor today. It was about 3X the size of the one at reef depot (same type) and only 10$ more.

Rods is a good place for blue SPS also. I have about 5-6 blue colonies from Rod's. All much cheaper then 100$.

I guess this is like when there is a bunch of hype about a new movie. You go to see it and then there is that let down. I expected CHEAP because everyone kept saying CHEAP.

Unless your going to compare them to Reefer Madness. I could give you that review too though. I have been in both places. Everyone is cheaper then Reefer Madness.

Nice set up I was just there a few days ago for the second time. His prices are amazing. Internet prices without the shipping!

I just picked up two colonies of zoos and ordered a huge clam for my sump. The zoos were $50, at Living Sea they would of been $100+ and his system is set up for growth not for retail!

I dont know how he does it but if you want to see what you are buying and let him take all the risk of shipping, this is the place for you.

BTW If you want excelent SPS he has both aquacultured and wild colonies with colors I've never seen at a LFS.

thanks mark,

another fantanstic visit to reef depot.. picked up electric blue mille+a very cool birdsnest. prices are totally reasonable. good size pieces-if you were to frag them i'd say 5-6 frags for every colony. well worth the trip. it's nice to find people who will spend the time to talk to you and not just "sell you". big thanks again--john:)

Just wanted to say......

to Reef Depot! :)

I visited for the first time this weekend and enjoyed meeting Mark and seeing his set-up! It looks great and I will definitely return to buy once my parameters are stable after the storm disaster last week.

I saw some things that other LFS do not have. I am excited that Mark (and his partner) have decided to invest in the local reefing business and wish them every success!

I do recommend that you visit them when you get a chance. Their offering is worth seeing first hand, then make up your own mind whether to buy from Reef Depot or any one of the other awesome LFS we have in this market.

Good luck and happy reefeing to Reef Depot! :D

Boyd :D

Hey Boyd,

I was there when you were there over the weekend. I hope you get your tanks straightened out after all of that flooding you had.

They have some nice stuff for sure.

One thing that impressed me while I was there was that Mark has 2 powder blue tangs that he just got in. One customer was ready to buy one and MarK would not sell it to him!!! He told the guy he was not gonna sell him a fish he got in two days ago and told him to come back in a week after he made sure it was eating and was healthy. How often do you see that?

I wish them the best of luck...they certainly are trying very hard and have great stock.

I actually had an email conversation with him tonight in regard to some SPS that I have only seen at one other place. He said as long as I didn't have to have it right now and could wait until his supplier is back on duty he will get it and blow away the insane pricing for a small frag on the site I linked to. I honestly would much rather go local than mail-order so as much as I want to get the corals I told him I can wait and would much rather spend my money with them.

I just got back from there. Mark is a good guy, knows his stuff, and looks like he has the start of a great place. I am looking forward to doing business with him in the near future.

OK I need to post here and admit I was wrong. I went over and talked with Mark a bit after I got off work today. After spending some time there I have to admit he has a real nice setup. It was unfair of me to walk in and ask the price of a couple corals and judge a place based on the answer.

Anyway I would definitely recommend this place and wound up blowing almost 200$ today there. I got a great deal too. I also plan to get the last few fish I want for my 600 from him.

If you get a chance check it out. It is worth the trip!

I just stopped by Reef Depot today and I was very impressed. His setup is very impressive and all of his fish and coral looked healthy.
