So my friends tank just crashed after hitting 95 degrees or so. Thus I am now holding his fish.. AAHHHhhhh. all I can say is that the system is waaaaay overstocked but Im glad his fish pulled through since they were in terrible condition when he brought them over (swimming upside down/ spinning/ pale). He's setting up a new system since> all his corals / some fish died and the system he had became polluted. You can see some in the picuture> purple/sailfin/ yellow belly. I am just glad the Vlamingi will have a nice big home to swim around by the end of july. btw the dog is my mom's new dog.

I figured I ought to show what poor planning and a college budget does. lol

here is my ghetto refugium/plumging job

I just had a coralife 1/4 hp chiller plumbed to my tank from the garage> going through the basement crawl space> and despite 90 degree weather the tank has been staying a coooooool 78. Going through the crawl space means the chiller has to work less hard. Yet this may become a problem during the winter so by that time I probably will insulate those pipes

Actually this happened a few weeks back but i though I sould share

Well on my way back from school on the California I-5 I totaled my poor jetta .

I was in the left lane> move to the right to let someone pass when a motor/blower fell off the back of a pickup. I moved to the shoulder> since the car I was letting pass was just coming by. In doing so I hit a gravel patch, went through a chainlink fence, hitting a few of the poles, popped the first curb, skidded onto the offramp, and demolished another curb. The pictures tell the rest. The car was flat bed towed to my moms service station about 120 miles farther north by the good'ole AAA

if you look reeallly closely you can see where i went through the chainlink> just above the jetta you can see where the fence disappears.

too bad it only had 50K miles still had a lot left
I guess the moral of the story is love your jetta while you have it because it could be gone just like that

Well the tank looks a little less crowded without the Vlamingi but it is none the less still a mess full of waste making machines! Let this not be an example! Alteast my friends tank is back up on its feet and should be running smoothly shortly.
