You guys can add me to the list of RC members from ABQ. Unfortunately, I've got other committments on Thursday nights otherwise I'd find a way to come and see what everyone's up to. I might be able to sneek away from the family on another night once a month or so. Just let me know ...

Would getting a club forum opened here on RC be a possibility? Having a place to talk with other locals would be great.

I'm going to tell a few other locals about this thread. As far as I know they are not RC members yet, but might join once they see this thread..

I am not set on thursday, so if we can find another day that works better for everyone thats cool.

Glad to see there are others, hopefully we can get this going as I am not letting go, I want to see a club start sooo bad.

I will check tomorow to see if we can get an Abq group setup here.

Thursdays work, in general, well for me, but other days are quite the possibility for me as well!

My apologies, for not getting back to you sooner! I have had something come up with work. I have to leave town this afternoon, so I won't be able to host. I'll let you all know when we can do it. Unless you all want to meet up at someone elses house tonight.
That's the problem with being a Field Service Engineer. I'm pretty much on call 24/7, so if a transformer or switchgear blows up and there is an emergency I have to go. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often, but it just figures that it happens this week. I'll be in Phoenix untill probably Sunday. Can we get everyone to post there normal schedule so we can see what works for everyone? That way we can coordinate a good time for everyone?
My "normal" schedule is M-F 7am to 4pm.

Anyone care to post their good days for a meet? That way we can try to work around everyones schedule. M-F after 4PM is good for me. I usually go sailing on the weekends.

Ok all,

Well, The meeting was a small turnout, but we had a great time. (Thanks Eric) everything down to the BBQ was great. We decided to see if we can get a few of us to chip in for the MASNA club membership fee which is $50/yr. This will be split evenly.

Either Eric or myself will be the treasurer unless anybody else disagrees. The reason for this is for future group purchases, split shipping costs, club fees, "Food Fees" if we actually get big enough that it becomes a burden, and web fees (if any), etc...

We are hoping to get a solid 5 people or more to commit to attending the meetings and participate.

I am trying to get a response back from ReefCentral regarding setting up an Albuquerque reef club section, but I have yet to hear back. I will send another message tonight, but I think Eric is correct in that they will only setup a section if we are registered with MASNA.

The current schedule will be the second Wednesday of every month, so the next meeting will be June 14th @ 6:00pm. The location is yet to be determined but will be shortly. This date / time is not set in stone, but it is the current schedule to give some structure. You can PM myself or Eric with perfered times, and we will change accordingly.

On the club stuff, I have quite a few parts that I am willing to give away. I have some workhorse 5 ballasts, skimmers, sumps, etc... I will be bringing them to the next meeting, so if you want any of it, you will have to show up (My way of sucking people in)

Have a quick ? unrelated to the discussion on the upcoming mtg next week ...

Any suggestions for a place to buy good H2O for my tank? I'm pretty sure that the place I've been getting my water from isn't exactly up to par, especially since there's a sign on the water dispenser to the effect

"Water filter by reverse osmosis, UV, and other means ... Some minerals retained for flavor"

I'll have to double check the sign, but really, minerals in RO water for flavor? Anyways, just wondering where everyone here in ABQ gets their water from, other than their own personal RO/DI units. Any suggestions for good, high-quality H2O?

For a while I was getting my water from petco on san mateo and academy. expensive though at $2 a gallon.

I just broke down and get a used RO unit.

On the location, Eric, are you ok to host again? If not, We can probibly use my place as long as everybody understands I have 2 kiddos and a 3rd on the way. I am in Rio Rancho

I just moved here from phoenix. I loved RC and our club there. I have tryed to get RC to give Albuquerque a forum too. So glad someone is out there. I have had to start all over because of move but please keep me in the loop for meetings. I'm ne so if you need a meeting place on this side just ask. 298-0715
