Well talked to the boss and gave up the best lame reason

Great meeting again everyone! I am glad everybody showed up.
Here a few of the minutes:
1. Dues, We agreed that $15/yr should cover all of the expenses needed to keep the club running. Any special events will be addressed as then come up.
2. The meetings have been re-set to the third Friday of each month making the next meeting August 18, at MoonPowers house (Thanks for volunteering!!!
)
3. At some point, we will get a signup sheet going for on-call duty for emergency response. This does not mean that they are the only ones that can be contacted, its just a starting point for anybody having issues. Hopefully we can get something on the web to accommodate signups real-time so each member can sign up for as little or as much as they want to volunteer. As it stands, Moonpower has a few extra tanks that can be used for hospital tanks in an emergency. In the future, it was suggested that we might setup a dedicated hospital tank for reef club use.
4. The web site "Name" issue is still on the books. The problem here is the domain name. all our "names" are already taken. so it was decided that the first one that we can find that fits goes. I will be dedicating some time this weekend for this.
5. Advertising.... I have a lunch setup with rob next week to talk about promoting our club as well as trying to work the discount system. A few ideas were brought up; probably the best was a "per meeting" credit system. Possibly punching a card, or tracking members and working with Rob to add the members into his system as they join. At each meeting we can give a 2.5% discount that can be added to previous discounts up to a total of 10%. (Of course this is a rough idea) This way, occasional members who do not participate will get a small discount, but members that greatly participate will be rewarded for doing so. I will let everybody know Rob's ideas after I meet with him.
Hmmm, I think that’s it. I am sure I missed some of the great ideas as my PDA decided to wipe itself for no apparent reason, so chime in if I forgot.
BTW: DBR, your tank was beautiful and it was great to check out your mantis! Thanks so much for volunteering, I had a great time.

We decided that we would start the dues system fresh, any contributions for masna registration will be held as a generous contribution but NOT towards dues. All future renewals WILL be pulled out of the member dues.

Rob is on the move. So Friday might be the last day for the
great deals on live stock. Happened to stop by today. Rob
is gona move to a new local. Some good corals and fish at
25% or more off. The new store I think is on Candelaria

Hey gang sorry for the late response; the MASNA registration fund is about $10 short. I'm going to spend some time updating the web today from the last meeting; If anyone has anything to add send it on over. Have a great weekend....

I finally created a staging site for the photos so I can upload them right after the meetings without haveing to resize them because of bandwidth issues. The Mitchdoctors should be able to get the pics 100x easier now!!!

Again, this is only a staging site to preview and download the RAW pictures, I will give you the warning that they are BIG, some over 4 megs.

For the photo contest; send the pics to me and I'll post them to the club site. I hadn't thought about more than one entry per person. Since we are such a small group and we are going to do it every month let's keep it to one for now. Eventually I want to have a prize something small but for now it will be having the picture featured on the front page of the club site.
I posted a vote page on the site also to name our club but it's not working (not sure if the server is compatable with the code I chose). The voting for the photo contest will be similar but I have to work the bugs out first.... For now email me your votes for both the club site and the pic of the month. I apologize for the hassle.
The site that Alex put up is to catalog the photos taken at each month's meeting. The date will tell you the meeting he took the pictures at then if you'd like to have a copy of them they can be downloaded by right clicking and choosing "save target as". He and I haven't talked about it but it would be nice to have the photos he is taking posted to the main site.
Does that make more sense? Let me know if it doesn't!

I agree 100%.
The only reason I put the site up was because the site (jeep-pics.com) is actually hosted at my house, and so far the pictures total about 150 megs. lol So, in a raw format, its hard to host them because we would easilly top out our space and bandwidth on the main site. We will talk about this more on the 18th. :rollface:

Hey all.
Just wanted to post an update about Coral Island. The bad news is that it was disolved by another company that wanted to eliminate the compitition. Unfortunatly Rob did not hold majority shares in the company so he was touched by the bad end of the stick.
The good news is that Rob is in high spirits and without disclosing alot of info, things are looking up for the reefing society here in Alb. I was able to get with Rob for a while today, and I am very optomistic. More will be said at the meeting on Friday!

I will not be able to attend the meeting this Friday. I've got a date with my wife to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. :love2:
Anyways, I hope the mtg goes well and am looking forward to seeing the notes/minutes.
