hi, i'm writing this from an airport. since there's no marine fish store in my country, i buy fish and corals from the neighboring country. and i always got through fine, putting the livestocks in check in luggage since their international airport uses automatic x-ray machines. but today i chose to fly with a budget airline which is based at the domestic airport where there is only manual x-ray machines. and they found the livestocks through x-ray and asked me to take everything out. so
3 trochus snails
2 tigertail cukes
1 bubble tip anemome
3 frags of gorgonians
1 green polyps toadstool
1 frag of monti peltiformis
1 frag of table acro and
1 crocea clam were seized at the airport. i thought i was gonna get arrested for exporting illegal stuffs. i'm so frustrated right now. thanks for reading.

That is to bad you do not have fish stores in your country. Do you need permits to import things to your country or is it just a ban on marine items.

the country i'm buying marine items from asked me the export permit. my country is fine. they usually allow even without import permits if for personal use. there's a ban on importing/exporting sps in general though. but yesterday at the airport, they didn't know anything about corals. and i don't speak their language and they didn't understand english very well. so they kept saying "no no". they even wanted to take away the Kalkwasser bottle and Magnesium bottle. :( all those poor things might be dead by now unless they also have a reef tank

Sometimes I would agree with you but many times these laws are made with good reasons such as conservation or the spread of an aggressive species with no predator. For example lion dish are taking over near South Florida and can ruin the ecosystem in that area. DNA in that area has proven all the fish go back to four that were most likely introduced by reef aquarium enthusiasts
