Does anyone have the address to this beautiful establishment.....Big Als tried to tear me a new one last night, for some reason prices didnt seem right on certain fish.....Im looking for a tang and a coral beauty, if not a reef life somewhere local please

Just curious, what were the prices? Reef Life is on the SW corner of Griffin and Pine Island in Cooper City.

Big Als is starting to annoy me too.. I guess its time to support the small biz in the area insted of the wall-mart style stores.. Anyone know Reef Life's hours?

not sure but Im going there when I get of work today. The only thing about Big AL's is the price on livestock is so cheap. I hate saying it but it kills small LFS type places. Its almost as if you have to drive all over the city to get what you want. And to make matters worse I live 5 min from Big Al's. I would rather take the 30 min drive to get the stuff I want. Im very curious to the pice at which they are selling. If it is fair....no more big als for me.

I am not sure about the new location, but at the old location, reef's life open till 7:00pm on weekdays and 5pm on sunday. Anyone know for sure?

I think they are open til 8. When I got there tonight, Patrick just came back from the airport with a HUGE shipment of fish and coral. Some of the most awesomest pieces of coral came out of these boxes, let me tell you....I have NEVER seen anything at Big Al's that would come even remotely close to what he's got.

Yup, I was there tonight too, I got some very pretty pieces of corals. I must say these corals are out of control! I had to pull my self out of the store :D

I don't know were reef life is located , but I think that's you have to support the small stores no mater what you buy! I firmly believe that if you don't, you will only end up with the wallmart.
I had a highschool teacher tell us that back in the early 60"s , so now that I gave away my age , here is what she said. If you start to buy off the big chain stores, that were just coming out at that time. You would save a few pennies on the dollar , but lose in the long run . From the fact that they would put the smaller stores out of business You would no longer have three stores in town that sold different brands of say bikes, or TV's or anything else. I know that the town I grew Up in had two shoe stores , one hobby shop , two record shops, two drug stores two small sporting good stores , and so on. There were meat markets, hardware. Needless to say it was a nice little town that everybody from the area come into shop!

The town to speak of is no longer there, you have wallmart!!!!! and no choice of what brand to buy. Her prediction came true......

Rogger, if I recall correctly you tried to pull yourself out of the store several times before actually being able to.

Okay since everyone is asking I will answer.

This week only hours are Tue-Sat 12:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. & Sun 12- 5:00 p.m.

After it will be Tue-Sat 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sun 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

I agree Walmart and companies that attempt to become like them and drive out their competitors, will rob the consumer of more than they could ever save by shopping there. They would lose out on things like knowledge, ethics and committment. These are things Big (pun intended) chains and conglomerates lose sight of when beating down the prices of goods from manufacturers. I've noticed that a Big chain located in the northwestern region of Broward run up prices of popular corals when there is no other basis but popularity. Anyone look at those Acan Lord prices? $225.00 Are you kidding???

An employee told me this afternoon after looking at a really nice acro, "You can get $200.00 for that piece and another said a few minutes later "Those spiderman mushrooms sell for $35.00 per polyp on ebay. "Spiderman what??" where do these crazy names come from Superman, Spiderman? It's just a matter of time before I see a coral pack called the League of Justice Combo Pack! featuring a Wonder Woman Chalice (invisible of course), Green Lantern Zoos, Batman Blasto's, Aquman Acans, etc..... Anyway, I told both of them that our business isn't about banging customers as hard as we can because something's hot. It's about using a straight pricing formula for all pieces so that we sell corals based on price and not popularity. I really hate hold out for a price and hold onto corals until they either get damaged, die or lose color and become worth less than I paid for them.

If the big chains are allowed to force out their competition and dominate the marketplace watch what happens to prices then!

LOL, I want the League of justice combo pack, is it possible to change an incredible Hulk green Acro instead of the invisible wonder woman chalice?

I think you've gotten that one mixed up with the Magnificent Marvel Coral Pack which features the Spiderman Mushrooms, Incredible Hulk Green Acro and a Fantastic Four Pack (shipper's discretion)

Hows the LR at Reef life. ?

Good I bought Tonga Branch from them and they have plenty of coraline alge on them.

More than 3/4 of my rock came from Reef Life. And I don't believe in spending more for stones than for steak........So I always buy the cheapest available and it has worked out great for me, covered with coralline and all other sorts of life.

Mailbox cleared.

I got the rock over the past 2 years, so I don't really remember the prices, but I do know that I won't spend $ 8.00 a pound unless it's covered in some precious metal.....

I have THE WORST possible situation. I live in downtown hollywood without a car or even a bike. I have under desprete circumstances gone to beverlys pet center on the bus, but that doesnt work very well, esp when i want to get alot of stuff, they dont check baggage if you know what i mean, you have to sit, or sometimes stand with whatever you have for 40 minutes to get back on a bouncy bus. On other occasions i have gotten a cab at GREAT expense to take me to the LFS nearest to me, which is still a 8-10 minute drive. So if anyone lives nearby or travels thru the area lets become friends so life isnt so hard on my tank LOL
