Reef Lights left on for 2 weeks

Hi there,

Brand new to the community and very happy to be here. Here is my first post.

I have a 90 gallon reef at my work that is illuminated with metal halide and t-5 supplementation. I recently changed the bulbs on the t-5's about a month ago. Two weeks ago I was showing off my tank and changed the timer to the "always on" position. I also went on vacation right afterwards. When I got back, there was way more algae then anticipated and all my montipora was looking very pale and the couple of acros have gone brown. Only one coral died outright and was in the highest position in the tank. Only the T5 lights were left on, metal halide are only on for 4 hrs a day. My question is:

How long will it take for my aquarium to recover? Who else has left their lights on for a similar length of time, 10-14 days, and what was your outcome?

Thanks for taking the time to read my thread and please respond if you have had experience with this topic.
