Reef Link

Dmorty,

VorTech integration will be available within the next month or two, also we will be releasing dedicated Ipad and Android apps shortly.

Alex,
If I choose to forgo the ReefLink, would it still be possible to connect the Radions via USB cable and be able to program the Vortech pumps via the new upcoming software?

Why is this still pre order only if ecotech started shipping out on the 22nd?These companies should have it by now.

Can one ReefLink device be used to control multiple aquariums or would a separate unit be needed for each aquarium?

from what I can tell from playing with reef link, yest it appears you can control multiple aquariums.

I wish there was more info on the reeflink. The "beta" box didnt have much paperwork with the item and if you run into problems you have to just figure it out on your own. Also, I would like to know when we will be able to connect the vortechs as well. Currently I can control my whole system with the Apex + wmx. However, I am trying to keep an open mind on the reeflink but its hard to compare the two if only one connects to everything at this time

I have beta model as well. Here are some issues.
If I made some changes a lot of times the reef link will just freeze, and it won't restart on it's own.
iPhone application on iPad sucks big time.
Besides wireless connection to Radions (which should be built to Radion at first place for the price ) I don't see major advantage.
You still have to connect to online server. I would prefer to program my lights directly without login to the web site.
That's it so far.
Anybody willing to share there experience ??

I have had the exact same experience as you. The reef link randomly freezes and have had real issues when trying to modify the light program. It got "stuck" and I couldn't get my lights to do anything even after a power cycle. I ended up connecting via USB to do a factory reset then a firmware update to restore them. After which I had to reconnect everything via the USB before I could get the lights to connect via reef link. I do not see the benefit over this approach compared to how I had it hooked up previously. ( laptop with USB connection) That is why I was wondering if there is a support group specifically for the beta program.
Since I already have the apex with WXM, I am strongly leaning that way. Way more support for the beta program and it already controls my mp40s and my radions

I am going to test this out risk my equipment and sps and I have to pay?
Ya think about that again
Love the company and they have great customer service like I have never seen but I am not going to pay to test that's for sure. If they had told me I would have been refunded after the testing I may have thought about it. I do so much testing now at work and I no how to push limits so I would have been a good tester but to pay I don't think so.

So ecotech It just rubbed me the wrong way when your sales rep asked for $99 bucks with no assurances.
