Reef Link

Duality,

I met with our engineering team this morning, and they are making excellent progress in testing! VorTech control should be available early in 2014.

tsadik,

It shouldn't need to be power cycled, but if it is connected to a WI-FI network that loses connection often that can cause the issue. If you haven't already, try a hardline connection to see if that makes a difference.

I installed my reeflink tonight.

It connectes to live... but when I look at the programming it is blank. But the programming is running. AND it WAS there in the other version.

So I received my beta unit and have a few things to report.

*Connects every time I try and use the reeflink via iPhone app on iPad and via MacBook Pro. I have not had the connection issues anyone else has described

*The iPhone app is pretty lame in functionality in my opinion. I think it's a cool "party trick" to be able to switch to different colors to show friends and the easy access to demo/disco mode is cool, but not all that functional.

*Would like to see better graph customization via the iPhone app and also access to modifying the current schedule that the user has programmed. I can only find access to reprogramming the light to a new graph if I want to make changes from the app.

*Ready to see more rollout with reeflink. I understand it's in infant stages and look forward to its progression and functionality with other products

*At the $99 beta price, I feel reeflink was a nice and convenient edition, but I'm still not sold on its "need". At the current price and its current functionality, I cannot say I would recommend it as a must have accessory, only as a luxury.

Reminder, this is only my opinion and I'm discussing solely how the reeflink is in its current functionality and with future upgrades and new product integration this opinion could change.

Is there any information about what the lights on the reeflink mean? I spent an hour last night trying to get it to do anything and I only succeeded at finding crashy bug in the wireless setup in the setup application.

If your ReefLink doesn't show all blue LEDs, there is some problem that is preventing it from connecting to EcoSmart Live. If you are facing the ReefLink (with the cords coming out of the back opposite of you), what are the LED colors, starting at 12 o'clock? Please give us the colors going from 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o'clock. We look forward to hearing from you.

Connected to wired network I get Green, Green, Green, Green, Yellow/Orange, Red flashes to orange sometimes. Not connect to wired network ( I cannot get it to connect to my wireless ) i get Green, Green, Green, Orange, Orange, redish Orange. Sometimes I can get Green, none, Green, None, Orange, None. All of this is powered with USB because I have, as far as I know, no yet finished the setup procedure. With a wired connection it has an IP address and says its connected to the internet but it just sits on the "Please wait a moment while your reeflink initializes..." screen.

I will try to call tomorrow and see if I can get this resolved.

I purchased a Reef Link, but it cannot find the WiFi or Ethernet connection.

I also noticed that there is a typo for the telephone number on the Quick Start Guide. It is listed as 1 800 758-0338 and the web site has the correct number listed 1 800 785-0338.

Update:
After a number of power cycles I was able to connect the ReefLink via Ethernet and control the lights.

The firmware upgrade froze while doing it from within the ReefLink Setup program, but I was able to get the firmware updated through ESL

Still no success connecting the ReefLink wirelessly.
