As much as I hate to I may have to cancel the meet this weekend, I will know more tonight when I check a few of the corals. If I do have an AEFW breakout in my system I would hate to add any corals or trade/give away anything at this point. The 90 still looks great but I may have a battle with the 220.
After a little research some of the signs I am seeing looks like it could possibly be a plague and the light bulb switch may just have been a coincidence in timing. Anyone who has gotten frags from me recently be careful if you have acros.
Hate to hear this Jorge, hopefully it will not be AEFW. Do not fell left out tho, I just found out lastnight I have a pyramid snail outbreak on all 6 of my clams. Currently trying to find a frag tank to run off the main system to QT them.
confirmed AEFW, they are hard to find but this is my problem.
I am not really sure how I plan to combat this yet, but a 12pk and a fishing pole on the dock may help put things in perspective.
I can always sit back and look at the 90 at least for now no signs of any problems there. Anyways I will start a new post so everyone gets the message the meet is canceled.
Sorry to here this Jorge, hope everything goes well. Was looking forward to hanging out this weekend, but there is always another time. When you get things under controll let me know, I will hold a frag of the strawberry for you.
When I first got into sps I remember hearing about AEFW and also worried about getting them. I think with everyone trading as much as we do these days I think that AEFW are going to be a common as red bugs. There has been a few cases in the Valley and a few in the Richmond area lately of AEFW and I have done it in the past and forgot to dip corals and ended up with red bugs, an easy fix but still a pain. I guess even when you think that the coral looks good it always best to DIP it.
Jorge I have a bunch of different brands of dip if you don't have any and need it for the weekend, just let me know. All the best.
Jorge, very sorry to hear about the AEFW. I hope your incredible 220 pulls through. I once thought that I had AEFW but it was just a bi-color blenny nailing my SPS. Michael R
