This is another meeting open to everybody to attend. More focused then last event. Primary topic of discussion will be organic carbon dosing among other topics. Following that we can have an open forum as last time. Please find time to stop by ABC Aquariums after store hours 5:30 on Sunday April 17. They are located on 84 High St. in Fairport. Anyone who needs further details can PM me.

Thank you all!

Jason.

Here is one that will certainly inspire discussion on systems and individual approaches:

What do people do to stabilize water parameters?

(i.e. Temperature, Salinity, Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, pH etc.)

What are "best practices" for beginner to advanced reef keepers?

--Rich

regarding carbon dosing:

I don't.
IMO too many newbies jump right into carbon dosing before learning the basics. Is it a good thing? That's debatable.

IMO it's not a good thing.

Rich's suggestion has a much broader appeal IMO.

I agree. Sticking to topics that relate to all tanks/hobbyists would be much more productive. Simple topics like water changes could be beneficial. I often get surprised at how many people mix salt incorrectly. Sharing feeding and cleaning practices should be a staple for educational meetings.

I'll make this one! The "out-laws" wil be over that night for dinner so it works out perfect! Oops...did I say that out loud? ;)

In need of knowledge,
Hey I recently moved to the area and my brother got me into the whole reef tank deal. I have turned his empty 28 nano into my own personal world which I am pleased, but like an adction I want more. I was curious if this meeting is a invite only or if it is open, I have bought a few frags/fish from ABC so I am familiar with the place.

Thanks,
Jason

Great time, We did stray off the topic, but I think it was a good meeting and informative to everyone.

G- thank you again for the community space and all of your help and dedication in bringing the hobbiests together.

Thanks all. I have fun with it. How about a hands on workshop for next one. Photography, fragging, scaping, installin just some ideas.
