Looking for some assistance in adjusting my reef octopus skimmer. While breaking in my new skimmer the flow out of the exit valve was nice and silent. Now that I am dialing up the flow to get the skim adjusted correctly the exit flow is right above my water line in the sump which is causing a lot of noise and some splashing. Can I put a 45 degree elbow on the exit valve to get the exiting water below the water line in my sump? Or is it possibly to lower the valve assembly on the exit pipe to get it below the water line to reduce the noise?
