reef octopus skimmers?

I have narrowed my new skimmer down to reef octopus but not sure which to get. There is the Super Reef Octopus 5000 which is rated for 500 gallons.
Then there is the Super Reef Octopus XP-5000 Cone which is rated for 450 gallons.
What is the main benefit of the cone skimmers coming out? Is it worth the extra 300 for the cone skimmer?

The plastic fittings on my octopus broke so be careful if you are using this for long term.

i would go for the cone cause it most definetly makes a difference.

I like the cone also. I think it makes a difference. I like reef octopus skimmers.

I have the Super Reef Octopus XP 5000 Cone W/Bubble Blaster Pump, You will not be disappointed i Guarantee you that! Plus the Pump has a 3 year warranty to boot. FYI these are German/American Parts assembled in China and are great skimmers!

So my total volume will be about 350-400 once I take out the space of the rock. If I have a DSB and a refugium with some macro algae and mangroves. Will a the xp-5000, rated for 450 gallons be enough, with a future planed medium bioload. Or should I just get the Xp8000 for 1000 gallons so I know I have a big enough skimmer.

What size is the tank? Not total volume but the standard size.

Pics sent. One of the fittings is mounted to the body of the skimmer. Not able to replace without replacing the body.
