So there are quite a few pictures of the tank that I snapped real quick last night. As always let me know what you think I could do better, still working on my skillz. I think I'll just post a few pics every hour or so, that way you guys have something to look at today while you are avoiding work.

Thanks, it's hard to keep that xenia from spreading though. It releases every once in a while and I find them rooting in other places. I just found one on the back of one of those base pillar rocks, so that's gonna be trouble in a few months I imagine.

For some reason I think my pictures look really good on my computer at home, but then when they get transfered to jpeg and then put on here I don't think they look that great anymore... lol

I also feel like the end result is a bit under-exposed, but I swear it looks like its right before I change it jpeg

I've only had him for a couple months but he has been a model citizen. *knock on wood*

These are great, what kind of camera/lens are you using?

Nikon D300 and the macros are with a Sigma 150mm

Nice photos! What are you using to edit them? Might try cleaning up the spots on the glass before you shoot or during your editing so it doesn't look like spots on the fish?

I don't have any money invested in post processing software, do you guys think I should? I use the Nikon program to transfer them and then to adjust the basics like exposure and to transfer over to jpeg. When they are in jpeg I just use the windows gallery software to adjust a couple things. Are the other programs worth getting? They are just so expensive, and I wasn't sure if they were worth the price tag.

I did clean the glass about 30 min before shooting and stopped the pumps.

I also shoot with Nikon, rarely use Photoshop or Adobe...I think in the Nikon computer transfer software there is a setting/tool where you could go in during post process and blur little dust or sand specks on an image. I only mentioned the specks since you asked for photo feedback...your images are very nice.

I really appreciate the feedback. I did touch up some of the photos as there are a few scratches on the bottom edge of the tank. I think maybe if I used a tripod more I could get a more crisp shot but I've found I'm slightly too impatient lol
