Tony great job I think you found a nitch in the so cal market. It was packed with peeps for sure. Great collection of stuff. Some of the designer chalices seemed a lil off but for the on line peeps they are consistent. I came hone with some great acros and a some new favias for my collection. I was more then happy with the things that I got for the price. I am a picky collector. The weekend sale discount helped my pockets too. I just want to go back for more-).

Reef raft killed it!

Definitely one of the nicest store around. I like how all the plumbing is under ground and all the lights hanging from the ceiling. Very clean store.

Great turnout last night! Here's some pictures from the event.

Sorry, Not impressed at all.

1) 90% of the SPS frags are hacked up pieces of Bali Maricultured sps. None of which are even attached to plugs, glue bubbles still visible and likelihood they stay that color or even live are slim.

2)$300 + for a piece of chalice that is the size of a dime or smaller with no "wow" colors...really? Guess thats why it looks like not many if any have been sold.

3) way to many employees..more employees than customers when i was there..understand the concern of people stealing stuff but putting an employee on guard at ever single tank is a little overkill and personally made me feel uncomfortable when trying to peruse the store.

4) some nice wild colonies in there..how ever nothing was priced, but if they are priced like everything else i can only imagine.

Alot better stores out there, i wont be back for sure. The crazy prices and hacked up un-healed maricultred frags was enough for me to not come back.

A little harsh, but I agree.

I dont think it was harsh at all........... u can get the same thing at coral grazers or any other shop for half the price if that

Were they really guarding the tanks? I don't like when employees are staring at me while I am looking in any store. Maybe they just have some extra people to help with the crowd during the grand opening. They wont make money if they overstaff.

Everyone just seemed to be there to help when I was there. Just think they wanted to be able to give good service.

I enjoyed the event last night. Some great inventory to look at and a great start for them.

If my tank was ready I would have supported them with a purchase.

They were sitting in chairs next to every tank, reminded me of club bouncers. Very uncomfortable feeling.

Sounds to me that some of the posts are a little harsh! I live a couple of hrs away and was not able to go for the midnight grand opening, but I went there about a month ago and picked up 4 frags. Tony was great, gave me a smok'in deal and it was nice to see some new SPS, not the same acro in every shop!
I really think they (Tony & Reef Raft) have raised the bar and we should give him Thanks! Now the other boy's have to step up to the table.

Thank you Tony! Reefing in So. Cal. just stepped up to another notch.

Unfortunately he can't make everyone happy
If you don't like what Tony's is selling it's not worth going there.
He is a business therefore he still need to make money to continue.
My only experience with him was when he was in coral island.I don't think is his coral was over price when he was in there.
I don't know him well but he seems like he know a lot about corals when I was talking to him.

IMO we are just used to fire sale here because some of the people here sell their livestock cheaper than wholesaler or even free that is why we think that it's normal to get stuff cheaper or even free.

Ps I think tony just want to protect his livestock from wet pocket

Agree cant make everyone happy. I just dont understand the 300 plus price tags on the super tiny chalice pieces. Go look at divers Den ..they have amazing colored chalice on there that are 6 inches or larger in size for the same price.

Also the hacked up maricultured pieces was very disheartening.

I haven't gone to the store and iv read mixed reviews you have to cut the guy some slack for starts he had the guts to open a shop in so cal, which by far is the pickiest breed of reefers not trying the bother anyone it's the truth, and It sounds like he took the safe rout in selling fresh cut frags instead of risking losing a bunch of mini colonies he probably bought larger ones and chopped them up to maximize the amount of stock he has.

So I say before we get into more technical critiques let his shop be around for a while and see how it play out in the long run

But again just my 2 pesos I mean cents
