To some up this thread:

Tony:

4) clearly mark prices for corals and you'll get more customers

I like this one. Without prices, I feel like they can make up any prices based on how I look.:uhoh3:

To some up this thread:

Tony:

1) quit chop shopping the wild corals and you'll get more customers
2) quit chargin so much for chalices and you'll get more customers
3) display corals for sale in one tank and one's not for sale in another and you'll get more customers
4) clearly mark prices for corals and you'll get more customers
5) follow steps 1-4 and you will be the best LFS in all of Southern Cali and win the hearts of everyone. If you stay the same you will fill a niche but you will lose some customers.

HTH

that's the problem we have with the RR up here in ontario ... ppl I know stopped going ... they buy wild coral colonies from another LFS, chop it into pieces, and sell them the same day, each frag, same price or higher than the original colony !

and on top of that they advertise saying "EXCLUSIVE TO RR ... " lol

almost laughable.

but I wish them best of luck, on business side, they are doing what they should be doing to make more money and being a business man, I see nothing wrong with that. other than loosing some customers

Looking forward to checking this place out during my romp down south this weekend, but it sure sounds like Tongs in FV Part 2. I can't stand shops that don't list prices either in the store, or when they post stuff for sale online. It's a hassle to ask the price on everything if you are interested in a few pieces. It's also a huge waste of time for staff to be answering the same question 100 times a day.. How much is the zoa rock with 3 polyps, ok what about the 1 with 4, ok what about the one with 4 and that kinda nub looking baby polyp?

So is it that stores are making too much of a profit on corals that bother you? Or is it that reefers pay too much for them that bothers you? Or that they pay too much and then come on here and post pictures of these new corals that they overpaid for from stores that are making too much profit from these corals that bother you? I mean really, whats bothering you?

That's what I'd like to know.

So Why you're so negative about this store?
He is not forcing you to buy his corals.

I know i can't afford his high end corals but I appreciate seeing nice corals so I will go there just to see it.Fragging mariculture corals is not a crime because not every one can't afford the colony and Guess what vivid do the same thing.

Guys, everything that can be said about this topic has been said. Let's just respect each other's perspective and move on. It's our love for this hobby that drives our passion.

Grown men/women spending their own money and it doesn't affect you in anyway shape or form and you're bothered by it?

And why would chopping a colony up bring down the industry?
Please get over yourself.

What are the normal business hours for the store? I'm in the area for vacation so I stopped by tonight around 7, and the store was closed.
