Reef safe stocking ideas??

So, I am thinking about adding a fish to my tank. I have a 75 gallon mixed reef system with a sand bed. I currently have a true perc clown, an ocellaris clown, two fire fish, a lubbocks wrasse, a bi-color blenny, a neon goby and a diamond goby.

I have been thinking about a white tail bristletooth tang. I am also interested in a blue dot jawfish as well but am leaning towards something that spends more time swimming. I definitely do not want to put something in that has a rep for eating sps.

Any other ideas?

Have you seen a white tail in person? My LFS has one right now for $120...while it's more rare than any other bristletooth tang I am not quite sure it's worth the price tag. It looks very much like a yellow eye tang just with a white tail. Cool fish though.

Just pics on the Internet. Interesting to hear though. Maybe not worth the extra cost.

Up until a month ago they were almost impossible to find. People have been on Liveaquaria wait list for years for that fish. Here in Southern California at least two stores have them in stock and BlueZooAquatics has been selling them for $170 in their collectors choice section like hot cakes.
When I saw it I knew it was a rare find but in the end I wasn't convinced it was worth it. Money isn't the issue. If there's value in something I want I am willing to pay. I didn't see it in the white tail tang.

Those are nice. Do you think I would have an issue with it and the Lubbock getting along?

It should be fine. Most people recommend adding flasher wrasses before fairy wrasses. However, lubbocks is a small fairy and if you get a larger angulatus (also called royal flasher) they should be ok. Almost every article I read said that two flashers would co exist no problem. When I bought mccoskers and line spot the latter almost killed the former. I had to take the mccoskers out.
The point is you never know till you try but I would be willing to take a chance with a smaller sized fairy such as yours and a flasher.

A safer bet would be adding an African leopard wrasse. I had one that was added after my 4.5" lineatus fairy wrasse and they did great together.

I do really like the leopard wrasse but have been warned that they are difficult to keep alive.

They are difficult, however if you find one at a LFS that is out during the daytime and eating prepared foods, they can actually be quite hardy once acclimated. There is a very lengthy Primer thread here. Take a read through when you have time :)

I could not agree more with this post. If you get one that's eating they are very hardy and very disease resistant...also beautiful, peaceful and gracious swimmers.

Thanks for the suggestions.

It is still a little out, since I recently added the Lubbock wrasse (want to give my ecosystem time to adjust), but I am now seriously considering the leopard wrasse. I would still like one "bigger" fish in the tank though. Any thoughts on a suitable larger bodied fish for my system?

Leopard wrasse males get quite large. You can find one that 4-5 inches and will be a great show fish. You can try a One Spot Foxface or an Angel from Genicathus family.
