I wouldnt recommend eggcrate ( It blocks light ).. I'd go with birdnetting of sort. And I would NEVER recommend a 6line if you want to get other wrasses.

I read that flames are aggressive though, can anyone comment on this? what if you only bought a female?

I find the females more aggressive then the males. But, my flame doesn't show an aggressive nature.

I have canary, bipatitus & maleagris wrasse. my canary has nipped at snails & hermits, but my leopards are fine.

Love my melanarus. Tons of color, inexpensive, and just a great fish. Funny trying to see him boss around my foxface though, it's like a little kid picking on a bigger bully.

I really like my Melanarus too but I do know he has eaten some snails and I am pretty sure he is the one slowly picking off my peppermint shrimp. He also flips smaller things over when he is hunting but I will always have him.

A sixline is cool if he is going to be your ONLY wrasse. If you want something else too scratch him off.
