Very nice. ..jealousy..
So those bulkheads just sit down into the larger drain pipe so they can be easily lifted out for cleaning/maintenance? I like the idea. Are they noisy? or you don't know yet?
The wood is covered with 2 part epoxy?
What exactly we looking at on that bottom pic? the sump?
The tank can be removed if it leaks but not easy to remove for maintenance. By plumbing it the way I did it will keep the water level in the tank the same & you won't get a vapor lock where it drains fast & fills back up. Not that noisy but when you have all the pumps & a lot of tanks it is loud.
The wood is primed & semi gloss painted & then 1/2" Styrofoam over the wood.
The custom built sump is 4' x 6'.
Very nice. I saw an older video of your system. It looks like you are expanding!
Can you give some details on what we are looking at? Are those all 20G tall tanks? How many do you have plumbed to a single sump? Sump contents and volume? Return flow rates? How many fish can it support at the same time?
Sorry for all the questions but I am designing something similar (but waaay smaller) and these are the things I am thinking about.
How long can you keep them at a density of 200 per 20g tank?
Until I sell them. That is a very doable amount. I have 1 20 gal tank with 749 Mochas in it since August. It will take a few more months before I can sell them. If it had 200 then they would be sellable now.
wow... that's good info. What filtration do you run on your systems? Also - how did you count 749 clownfish? lol.
I got it up & running with tap water to test for leaks.![]()
