I purchased the gyre end of last year and only used it for a couple of months. I am going to test the local market a bit before attempting to ship.

fwiw, this is a good price for a good skimmer.

this originally had the problematic mesh impeller. I had a fix for this by adding a washer (you can search for the old thread here on rc). if you get the needlewheel impeller, then it will not have any problem. My original mesh impeller broke after 4 years of use and just replaced with needlewheel earlier this year and no problem at all, even without a washer. you can get the needlewheel impeller now for under $20 on ebay.
