reefbreeder lights

I was thinking of replacing my AI gen 1 upgrades with "Photon 50-V2+ - ReefBreeders". Seemed like a good upgrade. I noticed it on BRS.

You can see the AI lights on top. 3 modules. I will get a better spread from the reefbreeders.

Well newer lights will always be better but your lights definitely should be higher above the tank to make more spread, so long as there is enough par. BRS did a whole series on LEDs and ideal heights for mounting.

To be honest for the price of a new Reefbreeder at the moment you can find some decent used lights right now ie Hydra 26HDs or 52HDs, Ecotech pro Gen 4 or Gen 3. I'm not knocking Logan and his products, he has great customer service and offers great mid tier products but make sure to look around and see what deals you can find because there are always people buying the latest and greatest and have to unload their older setups or builds that just never happen.

In any case let us know what you end up getting.

Thanks. I'll check out the BRS recommendations. My tank is pretty deep 30" (240g). I never really had time to build a stand for the the light and the ceiling is over almost 30' high. I forget who helped me move the tank in. I remember woodaquanaut being there, but I don't remember the others.

I remember moving that tank. More importantly, my back relives the experience every morning!
Great to see your tank is still running.

I had AI sols also. Some of the LEDs burnt out on mine. On to Kessil A360x now.
