reefcrystals salt low calcium levels

was going to do 20% water change and tested the bucket of salt water i prepared and it is only 340 ppm. whats up with this. tank cal is 400. no wander I've been having trouble raising it. What should this newly mixed salt mix be as far as calcium.

Depends on how you mix it. If its mixed @ 1.026 with a properly calibrated refractometer, it should be 420 or so.

What sg are you mixing it to? If you do it to the suggested amounts, you're only gonna get it up to like 1.021 i think...and if you do that it would be low.

How are you measuring the SG? I had an improperly calibrated refractometer and thought I was mixing to 1.026. Turns out its was more like 1.023. My ca was ~ 360. Now when mixing to a true 1.026, its ~ 420.
