Im really interested in this item and wondering if anyone has any feedback on it?
Looks really cool for the price!

I run a RK2 on my SPS tank (50gal, 10gal sump), and a RK on my AquaPod. I think they're great for your 75 and under tanks, I woudln't want to put 3 MH and a Chiller one one circuit like they'd require (outside of the expansion) for a larger tank, but it handles my 50 (including a chiller because I live in Texas) just fine. I've never had any issues/errors or problems with it.

On my SPS it runs light, light, heater, chiller, empty, skimmer, skimmer, sump pump (I plug non on/off devices into a seperate power strip aka tunze, auto-top off) I also use the PH monitoring more for kicks as my calcium is by dosing pump.

On the AquaPod it's light, light, heater, empty, ml, empty, pump, powerhead.

i love mine...

i have 3 MH (2 electronic ballasts) -- 2 250 14k's and 1 150 10k never had a problem... however i dont run a chiller...

plugging "always on" stuff into another circuit is a good idea... i definitely could never even come close to fitting everything on the RK2... even with the extension... i just use it for stuff that needs controlling.

everything works perfectly (fans/heaters turn on at certain temps), there is a MH setting that waits for bulbs to cool down before striking...

the display is nice & easy to read... once you get used to checking your pH on it, you will never know what you did without it ;)

the owners are very easy to work with and are nice to boot...

overall a great product & well made... and the price cant be beat!!! get one... NOW!

I agree, great product. Nice look, easy operations. Have had mine running on a 75 since they came out.
I have mine set as:
1 Return and skimmer (I used a 3 plug to 1 so I could plug both in DA doesnt recommend that though)
2 Heater
3 Fans
4 Halides 2x150
5 PowerH
6 PowerH
7 PowerH
8 Actinics
Everything else is hooked into a seperate power strip.

another thumbs up for RK2. I run everything in my tank through RK2 except for lights and chiller.

Thanks,

James

brings up my next question.....what kinds of chillers do you recommend?
central air ;)

I've had a RK2 for about 8 months and it's worked great. I ended up getting water in the outlets, and the company replaced them for free- excellent customer service The RK2 gets 2 thumbs up from me.

Since central air doesnt work all the time (for example....come home today and its 80 degrees inside when it is set at 65) I need a chiller. Cant trust old homes!

i was just giving you a hard time... although since you bring it up, your central should be as reliable (or more so) than a chiller... assuming the coils & filters are clean, no leaks, and not low on coolant... just might be too expensive to do that at your place... i own an old vicki that is over 100 yrs old & the ac is fine...

i live in denver, so i do everything with evap (plus the central)... the fans only kick on when the temp of the tank reaches 78.5 & off at 77.5 its easy here (its very dry)... maybe not so much so in NC...

however this prolly doesnt help you on your quest, so im outtie!!

yah i know, im just ****ed at my crappy house
yah the humidity in NC is lovely so tank temps can rise up to 90 degrees

EGAD!! thats no good! i suggest you get a chiller ;) :D

messing with you again...
i love parts of NC, but i must say ive always hated humidity... here in denver stuff doesnt mold or anything cuz its so dry (many times i have had to mop up saltwater or whatever, & just chucked the towel down in the basement & then went down there a week later only to find a petrified towel! no mold or anything!!)...

guess evap wont work there! hope your quest for a chiller gets resolved soon.

Do you have an electronic thermostat? I put one in last fall and it was pretty easy to do. Good instructions. I'd be suprised if that didn't solve it, although I'm not an expert. I just can't see why it wouldn't.

I want a RK2 also. Thanks for all the feedback guys. Their sponsor forum has a few complaints but I guess you shouldn't expect to see everyone that's satisfied in there.

I have a RK2 on my 120. It runs my lights on the main tank and on the 20 gallon attached refugium/growout tank. I love being able to see what the temp, and pH are. It is very easy to setup.

Digital Aquatics also donated a RK1 to our reef club to use on the tanks we maintain for St. Jude's Children's Hospital here in Memphis. You could not ask for a better company to deal with than DA.

Three thumbs up!

I'm interested in getting one for my 29 gallon that I'm designing. Did you all order the ph probe with it, or did you buy somewhere else. One more thing, how much stuff can you plug in before you have to get the expansion?
