Reefkeeper Lite/Elite Programming

I should receive my Lite 3 package on Monday and was looking for some help programming it from someone who already has theirs setup. I have read through all the sites and can't seem to find the following scenarios.

1-I want to have a pump from my ATO come on 3 times per day for 5 minutes each time. I then want the pump to turn off when the float switch trips. This would occur before the 5 minutes are up. I will have two float switches inline, second one for backup. These would go to one of the SW inputs on the SL1 module.

2-Since I'm using an overflow box, I want to use the second switch input on the SL1 to turn off the return pump if the water in the display gets too high to prevent a flood. This is incase I ever loose siphon on the overflow box.

3-Do you have to calibrate the Itemp probe? I'm assuming you do and you follow the single point calibration method, but what do you set the target data as?

4-For the pH probe, do you set the target data based on the calibration fluid numbers that come with the package?

If anyone has any other tips for setting this up, I would greatly appreciate it. I see the manual is not very clear and would rather learn from others. I will have the following on each channel.

1-Actinic T5 lighting on a timer
2-Main T5 lighting on a timer
3-Fuge lighting on a timer
4-Return Pump on always except for standby mode
5-Heater controlled by the system
6-Skimmer on always
7-ATO pump
8-Display PH's-on always except for standby mode

Thanks for input.

No, dont do this, it is already calibrated. I did and now i have to buy a new temp probe to recalibrate the itemp one.

check out the forums on da's site, they have some programming tips in there.

Thanks, I won't calibrate the itemp probe. Their forum only covers setting up a heater, which I will follow.

my only complaint about the rkl is the lack of instructions for new controller owners. But once you figure it out, it is easy. The support is great and they will answer all questions quickly. Let me know if you get any answers to your questions as some of them i am interested in too.

For the first scenario you can set up the pump channel as a controller and have it come on for 5 minutes and off for 7hrs and 55mins, starting at 12:00am. You would also set up an alarm to turn it off if SWA (where the float switch is connected) is triggered.

For #2, you can set an alarm triggered by the float switch hooked up to SWB to turn off your return pump channel. Set up the channel as a pump and give it the alarm that you program to it.

#3. No need to calibrate the temp probe, whether it is the iTemp or the probe in the SL1.

#4. When calibrating the ph probe, there is no need to "set" the target data. It will default to 10.00 and 7.00 automatically.

The DA support forum is very helpful with these things. You can also download the latest updates to the documentation there as well. They are writing better manuals because users have been asking for that.

Dave, thanks this is the info I was looking for.

In regards to the first item, do i set the repeat count to 3 on the timer function.
