Tagareef, is th line with the gate valve the feed to the skimmer?

Yes, it is.

Tagareef, if you could take some more detailed pics of your drain setup, that would be awesome.

My 250 should be here this week.

This is the best picture I could get of the gravity feed.

Two 1" drain lines from the reef feed in from the right. Two rigid 1" pvc act as legs and overflows for excess flow. Vented cap at the top. The blue 1/4" line is the effluent line from my CA reactor. Before it empties into the cap of the skimmer drain, it goes thru a mini stand pipe I built just for the ph monitor probe. The white 1/4" line is from my kalk reactor.

Here's a shot from the other side. The skimmer drains into a filter sock that is changed every few days.

The ReeFlo Dart GOLD Pump Has Landed!

The ReeFlo Dart GOLD Pump Has Landed!

And here it is:

IMG_1603.jpg

It's still breaking in on my 250 so I won't post any findings just yet. I will say that this thing is even more quiet than the A.O.Smith motor. Also, not that heat was an issue for me with these Dart pumps, but this Gold pump is BARELY warm!:smokin:

nice.

the dart on my closed loop works hard, but it's always been hot enough to light a cigarette on. it doesn't seem to care.

sequence makes great products.

I've had a sequence pump operating on my pond for about 7 years, 24/7 through all four seasons. Sequence makes a great product. This thread and my Sequence pond pump experience convinced me to order a 250. It arrives tomorrow. Can't wait.

The Dart Gold is the Baldor motor instead of A.O. Smith. A bit stronger motor and runs cooler due to the cooling fins.
I tried one but it was a refurbished model and was noisier. I hope to try a newer model soon. Keep us updated Tagareef...the one I tried showed alot of promise...it was pulling out quite a bit more dirt than the A.O.Smith...that is the foam was the color of a freshly opened can of Coke...alot like a spazz skimmer can make.

kingsland and klasiksb,

Tomorrow might be a good day to call in (cough-cough) sick!

Get your cameras ready...we're going to need pictures.

Tagareef - What is the story w/ the gold pump again?

Lunchbucket

What cweder said!

I mainly bought the new pump to prepare for the cup upgrade I am buying. It increases the workload of the pump via more head pressure.

I heard about the refurbished pumps and made sure I was getting a new one.

This one is still breaking in. I'll post more later.
