What new skimmer are you getting? I thought you sold your reeflo??

I need a program to keep up with all these changes

Ryan - Yes, i sold it but still have it running - the buyer has been very accommodating & understanding about the delay with my skimmer - Mine is about 2-3 weeks behind schedule - but will be here tomorrow. I will be installing the new one this weekend - and deliver the Reeflo to the new owner.

what do u mean by wetneck?

Ben, a wetneck feeds water down the riser tube to prevent buildup inside the neck, therefor keeping it clean(er).

Does it have an electronic shutoff? Can I ask how much it cost? Their website is under construction....

They are electronic switches. Basically it is a PM large "14x7.75" collection container with an electronic switch held in with a probe holder. The cost of the unit is 169.99 together. If interested I can ask to get some pics of mine.

He also stocks new collection cups for the 250. It makes the neck longer to gain better performance. He is currently running it with his skimmer.

Here are some pics. I also got the PM container modified by Mike at Reef Specialty. I have tried to make it overflow several times. It works perfectly.

You have to see the larger neck/collection cup Mike (acroporanut) has for this skimmer. It's awesome. He should be getting these in soon. I can't wait to get mine.

You'd have to talk to Mike about that he hasn't given me a solid price yet. We haven't talked much about price yet because I don't care, I just want one.

Just got off the phone with Mike. They will be in later next week and will be selling for $250. These new cups make the stock ones look ridiculously small. He said he will get pics of the one he has on his personal skimmer tonight.

The stock cups actualy hinder performance, the ones mike has actually calms the upward flow of the air and alows for more water to be pushed through the skimmer. Mike is pushing 800-900 gal per hour through his Reeflo 250.

I guess there's no way of getting a credit or doing an exchange with the vendor for the existing stocks cups even if they are a few weeks old....

Sorry, these are not through CoralVue. These are a ReefSpecialty product.

Well here are the images of the Reef Specialty Skimmer upgrade cup for the reeflo 250.
Skimmercupcopy.jpg

total hieght: 15.5
cup width "end to end": 11.5
the crown was removed which allows for the head of foam rise and the weight of the head fall naturally.

This cup does allow the skimmer to perform more effciently.
What does everyone think?

How tall is the skimmer now with the new cup installed and how much room do you need to remove it ?...looks good by the way!
