reeflux 10k and 12k ??

I'm getting ready to purchase bulbs...as of right now I have no supplementation. I been hearing good things about these bulbs

I want a bulb that make the colors POP...I'd like reviews or photos on these w/o actinic supplement

250w SE

if no actinic i would go with 12k.

but what ballast you are running is also a big factor.

i really like the new bulbs there amazing
10k xm to 12k reeflux
makes the greens really come out.
250 watt with 2X75 vho actinic
 
forgot to mention I'm using magnetic ballasts...and I don't put alot of stock in par...I used to have 10k XM...and didn't like the color...even with actinic VHO

Ballast makes a big different in PAR/color.

From SanJay's site:

Coralvue 250W 12000K SE, PFO HQI Ballast, 75 PPFD.
Coralvue 250W 10000K SE, PFO HQI Ballast, 113 PPFD.

Regular magnetic ballast will have lower PPFD.

I'm running 12K and color is very crisp clean white.

Those are the standard coralvue bulbs not the reeflux. Sanjay does have some new reeflux bulbs to test and will hopefully post some results soon.
 
I was using 14K phoenix and now using 10K for 2wks with IC ballast. 10K give me yellow look and Im thinking to switch to 12K here. my friend run 2 400 12K and 1 250 12K and his tank is white with a little blue and I love it.
 
I agree with your statement. I have 10K on for 2wks and I see growth consideration, some of my coral growth up to 1 inch in branches. One of them has green polys and now the grow part turn to blue polys.
 
The 12k bulbs are alot more blue with a magnetic or a electronic regular ballast. I have them on a 250w pf0 hqi ballast and they are alot whiter/yellow. I wouldnt like them if i didnt have actinics. YOu will like them on a regular ballast. nice white with hint of blue.

1 inch of growth in 2 weeks??? Wow, that's nice!
 
Justin - I have a pic from when I started with 2 12k Reeflux on the outside of my reef and and a Reeflux 10k in the middle. The 10k acually looked yellowish pink. It is on a PFO mag ballast. I have all 12k now
