Looking to replace my XM10K's with some Reeflux 12K so I can get rid of 300 watts of VHO to save on some electricity. I've heard these burn much bluer. Anyone recommend where to purchase from? Cheapest I've found is 59.00 and I'm looking for 3.

Thanks.

Jason

No idea on price, but I think I saw some behind the register at Ocean Blue on Aloma in Winter Park if you're looking for a LFS rather than online.

Thanks. Any businesses feel free to PM me if your price is same or lower. Hopefully I don't regret the lighting change but I think I'll be ok with a slower growth.

I am curious, too. That's what I have and what I'd like to get when these need to be replaced. I like them a lot!

businesses are not allowed to advertise on reef central jay... your best bet is to hit the list posted of local LFS's and start calling around!

i personally run the 12k's in addition to the uri super atinics.. i probably could just run the 12k's, but i love the extra blue from my vho's!

I'd probably keep one of my actinics. But 320 watts a day for 12 hours adds up. The XM's I always liked for the growth but think I just want a nice change. I'll have to see how I like it.

I've had the local ones pm me before as I know they can't post it. I'll probably go ahead and just order it online.

I know the color is a little hard to get used to, but i just changed from 14k to 10k, and it is just amazing how much the corals are responding to the good light. My 14k was only a few months old too. It burned out and all i had was a 10k for a backup, but i'm gonna stay with the 10K after seeing the difference in the corals.

I think it depends on the 14k bulb. I don't like the hamiliton but I saw reefworks reeflux 12k bulbs on their tanks and it was eye popping.
