Reefpack 200

Hello Roger and folks,

Just have a few quick questions on the reefpacks:

Are the skimmer and filter bodies able to separate?

At the moment I am considering the nano, but do any of the reefpacks have the ability to be used separately? I would like to have them side by side on the back of the aquarium.

If so, I know it comes with one magnet, but is a secondary hanging solution also included?

Regarding the in tank skimmers, how does one control the skimmers water level? Does the pump have flow control, or does the skimmer just have a variable air valve?

Regarding the filter, my aim is to use it just for chemical filtration, and the occasional cleaning/polishing aid. Are the cartridges conducive to using carbon and other media efficiently?

Lastly, Ive considered using the 9002 inside an external power filter, whereby the amount of flow can be controlled, thus creating a recirc type environment. However, I am fearful of the skimmer overflowing, is this a justifiable fear? Or does the design of the 9002 make it overflow "proof"?

Thanks for the time,

jr

The 0200 Reef pack can be seperated and the units now come with seperate Nano magnet holders. The larger 0500 cannot be seperated.

The skimmer has an air adjustment. The water level has to be maintained fairly precisely for good skimmer operation. It should be not fluctuate more than 1" and the less the better.

The filter readily accepts chemical media and includes a bag for chemical media.

It is fairly overflow proof, it is designed so a full cup would flow back down into the tank but it is possible to have some overflow in an extreme situation.

Thanks Roger,

That answers almost all of my questions.

1 more. After looking at a few pictures and diagrams in the tunze manual, the magnets are always placed on the thin edge.

Is it possible to mount the magnet on other facets of the skimmer and filter? My aim is to have both on the back wall of the tank.

Thanks for the help,

jr

They are glued on, you could cut them off and reglue them or just get a second set and glue them where you like.

Roger,

I am about to place an order for the reefpack 200, but noticed in an image what looks like something that connects the skimmer and filter together.

I am looking for as clean a look as I can get, and if this is the case I would rather buy both separately to ensure the equipment is as sleek as possible.

Is the reefpack and non reefpack versions of the skimmer and filter identical, or do they differ?

Thanks yet again

They are identical. Older Reefpack 200's used the 6080.50 magnet holder and they shared this holder, new ones use the 6025.50 and each unit has its own holder.
