Reefpack 500 - Skimmer Height Adjustment?

Hi Roger,

I was curious if the two Reefpack components (skimmer and mechanical filter) can be separated. My guess is that they're bonded together.

I'm probably being impatient but I wanted to raise the water level in the skimmer just a bit so that I could get more foam spilling into the collection cup.

My 90g tank is only a week old and has 4-week cured Marshall Island rock, so there's probably not much gunk to skim, but, being a reef geek, I feel "uncomfortable" when the foam doesn't reach the top and spill over. (Or maybe it's the OCD?? <g>).

Give it a couple weeks. They are bonded with a plastic adhesive and seperating them would likely destroy the pieces. I promise it will work just fine, i have used 2 of them myself and just give it a little longer. BTW, I got you taken care of on the connection you needed and sorry i forgot to mention it earlier when you asked.

Thanks Roger. Appreciate the good info. I followed your advice to another poster and closed the skimmer air valve all the way and then opened it 3 turns.
