Reefpack 500

I am planning to do 75 gallon sumpless acrylic tank with Eurobrace that is about 2 inch on the rims. Interested in your Tunze reefpack 500, however it comes with 9005 skimmer. Any chance I can get the reefpack ship with 9010? This will be sps tank. Also does it come with magnet holder?

The Eurobrace pretty much eliminates using this set up. It will not look very attractive as it will have to stick out the 2" into the aquarium. It can be customized to use magnet holders but cannot use them in its standard configuration as the osmolator will pick up the magnetic interference. You have to start with the 9005 and then upgrade to a bigger motor and cup.

I did not get tank yet, but the sales guy told me that the back rim should fit all filtration, so let me check with them again on this.

Let's assume its 2 inch rim all around. The reefpack will still fit? The bracket will extend beyond 2 inch? I don't mind if it sticks out a little.

Roger,

Can I still install a Comline Filter
(3166.000) and Sensors of Osmolator 3155 onto my 2 inch Eurobrace?

Sorry for so many questions. What about the TUnze Nano filter 3165, if I want to use it on the Eurobrace with 2 inch rim, just for surface skimming?

Unfortunately Eurobracing is a bit of a misnomer, I have never actually seen a "Eurobraced" tank in Europe. Most tanks in Europe have no bracing whatsoever, they are built shorter to limit the pressure on the walls and longer tanks have thin center brace strips. Our equipment does not work well with such bracing. You could use the 3165 with a magnet holder and because it does not need to stick up much past the water surface the brace would not interfere but the skimmers just will not install in a way that will look attractive. If your tank has not been built yet I might suggest the design used by MP (Eheim Subsidiary) braces on the front and back that are only about 1" thick and no braces on the short side walls. If the manufacturer goes up one thickness in glass this should be more than adequate, conversely if they shorten the tank they would not need to thicken the glass as the pressure on the seams would be reduced.

Do you recommend Tunze 9005 or 9010 skimmer for 75 gallon reef? I need to decide and order the skimmer soon? I know it'll stick-out but its ok

Water pump

Water pump

I will go with Tunze 9010 and install into a sump. Understand that this pump do about 650 gph. Can I match it with Mag 5 water pump ( 500 gph ) in my sump as return water pump. I am new to sump setup and have read that the pump on the skimmer should match the flow of return pump in the sump.

I would generally recommend the flow of the return pump be equal to 3-5 times the tank volume. I think give head pressure you will want an Eheim 1260, Mag Drive 7.5 or Tunze 1073.03.

I will be using lifereef overflow box rated for up to 700 gph and I will have two Koralia Three inside my tank.
