reefscience clam order

They didn't mark the bags and they all look exactly the same. It's luck of the draw!!!! I think I got a golden tear drop, it opened a bit for me to see.... Everyone on here should know about the drip acclimation process, I tested the salinity in the bag, it is pretty high at 1.030 so you need to slow down and do the drip acclimation process for at least an hour if not more.

CJ,

Have you moved yet or are you in teh same palce when I picked up the corals back about 6 months ago? I can get there after lunch as well.

Nashvegas, that golden one may be my squamosa I ordered and was delivered through this group order.

Your squamosa is bigger then the rest and it is packed separately!

I'm going with the injection method.. float bags and every 10 minutes or so Inject my tank water into the bag..never done it before but it makes sense...
there was an extra tiny non blue clam in there that said "Free thanks"..so I guess I'll take that one ..

The clams are bagged in twos... Mikeyjer and I opened a bag and split it..you couldn't really tell what was what but he got a golden teardrop and I got a blue...

I did a check and it looks to be 2 blues and 2 goldens left... when you guys get here we'll try to randomize it? I did find the clam that was a seperate order and it is blue but not in any way bigger than the rest of the clams..

luckyfish..yours is seperate and clearly marked and larger than the rest ..so no worries there...can you guys pm when you expect to come over? just so I can know..

Wow, Too bad Ed McMahon died the other day, you two could have hooked up!! All kidding aside the above Is some really good reading I liked the sand bed theory of feeding the fish that feed the worms that feed the well you get it. All things are relevant In the reef tank to make It self sufficient and successful.

I'm not sure, but I know ORA is aquaculturing clams. They have their facilities on an island somewhere fairly remote. Kinda cool. In fact, these may be ORA clams.

This will make some good reading on Clams, Now back to how their made!

I like Dennis's Articles..but there are a little bit propogand-ish for his products. but still an excellent read :D. I fed my last Clam Dt's Phyto ..so we shall see how this one does....I am feeding Reefchili and Brightwells PhytoChrom, which has seen great results for the rest of my critters.

Where are the photos? This thread has been a tease for me as I'd love to get a clam eventually. At least let me live vicariously through you all and post the photos. :)
