Some advice on keeping this thread alive and imteresting.

How about if you try to focus on one thing at a time and get it completed. You seem to be jumping from one thing to the next and its a jumbled mess we can't stay focused on. You ask for help with salt and then reply about fish. I think you will find that if you focus on a task, we can provide helpful, interesting responses that can move this thread forward. Once it moves forward and we see progress, we want to help even more.
It's hard for us to get excited about putting livestock into a tank with an SG so low. And your only response is typically, "lol, have to bring it up"

So, how about you list all of the things that still need to be done before adding livestock, and we can agree to pick one and complete that task, then pick the next etc..

Just my 0.02, but you did ask (in the other thread)

The more pics the better, that way people can understand and get a visual at the same time. Allways eaiser and people can give some really good tips and things to look out for. Hey when It comes to books I look for more pics than words lol.

Ok my blue tang never pulled through still alive though.
Things that need to been done to the tank still
Light
Rock
Power heads

yea ok still focused on the response above but there is one problem my water is no actually cloudy i dont think its me this time

so when are you going to raise your SG? you only need to raise it what, .002 er something? dump some salt in the tank and be on with it! it shouldnt take that long!
hows your plumbing working out? are you getting the desired flow through your sump and fuge? are you having any problems with noisy overflows or pumps? maybe you have a micro bubble problem to talk about?
lets not talk about fish. your nowhere close to that yet. lets talk about how well your plumbing is doing. is there anything about your plumbng that should be adressed before you move on to the next step? if there is something not operating correctly, you should deal with it before you get too far along. its important that everything is working properly so that you can avoid any headachs later. but, if everthing is up to par in that department, then lets talk about putting sand and rock into the tank.

yea everything is up to par

Your posts are very similar to a diary I kept when I was a kid.

Jan 1, 1976:

Dear Diary,

Today I did all kinds of cool things because there's no school today! YES! I skateboarded for a while, tossed the football around, played some video games until my dad took over the tv. Dinner was hamburgers and fries. Yum.

Nite, dear diary.

Jan 2, 1976:

Dear Diary,

While skateboarding down a steep hill today, I skinned my knee. That hurt. My dad made me read a book, but that's okay. I ate some pudding.

Nite.

Jan 3, 1976:

Dear Diary,

I had to pick some toys out to give to Goodwill. My dad said I have too many. :( I guess now I have room for some new ones.

Nite.

Jan 4, 1976:

Dear Diary,

I went to school today, did some homework, played the piano, time for bed.

Nite.

Jan 5, 1976:

Went to school, homework, piano, bed.

Jan 6, 1976:

School, homework, piano, bed.

Jan 7, 1976:

Had to do my stupid book report today. Never got to go out and play like all my friends did. Grrrr.

Jan 9, 1976:

School, homework, piano, bed.

Jan 10, 1976:

Same as above.

Jan 11, 1976:

" " ".

Jan 18, 1976:

Same old thing.

Mar 13, 1976:

Same stuff as usual.
....

And it wasn't long after that that I decided diaries were not for me.

;)

Okay, so now that we've gotten a full sentence out of you again, you might just try cleaning the glass to see if the 'cloudy' water is just a white film due to precipitation.

I may start answering with exactly as many words as you use. :p

ok i will try that i did add more salt this morning and just tested it and it was a little higher but not much its around 1.022

MarC - that diary post was awesome! I leave it to you to express what I'm thinking.

RT6 - If you still have the hippo tang, I'm guessing you plan on putting him in the 90, right? If not, maybe you could find a local reefer to adopt him and that will be one less thing to worry about while you're setting up this tank. Also, you wouldn't have to worry about compatibility issues and could get another different (suitable) tang if you chose to.

i am definitely adding the sailfin to my tank and i do not know about the hippo probably not because of its condition. I am not worried about the other tank right know i am really focused on this tank. Melev i just tried cleaning the whole class and it still looks cloudy maybe its from the salt i will see what it looks like in the morning

The cloudiness could be caused by salt, by precipitation, by a small bacterial bloom, or perhaps due to a chemical reaction to the solvents used to bond the PVC. It could even by from oils in the plumbing, the new pump and new skimmer.

It will pass. There's nothing there to fuel it, other than the stuff that comes in tap water. This is why we don't use it, because you don't know what's in it and we want to eliminated any unknowns to keep things controllable.

No updates?
What about the SG? Is it up yet this morning? If not, put some more salt in there and give it a stir! It is NOT going to magically raise up by itself (unless you let a bunch of water evaporate, that is) Is that your plan?
See, this is what we mean by completing a task. Get on with it.

Once the salt dissolves, take a reading. (What type of hydrometer are you using, BTW?). If its not right, keep on adding salt or water to correct. There really is no need to wait hours and hours between readings.

OK i was just about to make an update read salt this morning it was 1.022 and i just added some more so i will read again in a hour or so. The hydrometer that i am using is a Instant Ocean Hydrometer.
