lol chrismunn they are the little separate testers. They come in boxes and there just one i have all of them but i think i am going to buy a kit.

i think you just described every test kit available to the human race... a name brand would be helpfull. you should try salifert tests, they are very accurate :)

One rock per day, yes, it will be Memorial Day, '09

So, it seems like you have a plan then RT6, that's a good thing. The one thing that can ruin this hobby is not planning things out ahead of time, rushing into things, and impatience.

You, my friend, certainly have the patience thing down pat.

Let us know when you get to the next step in your build, be that more rock, new lights, additional flow, whatever.

Until then, enjoy the girls, work hard, and do your homework!

Tomorrow, I'm going to add another grain of sand. I'll post pictures after that...

Did you lift the inner box to the refugium yet?
Did you move the heater back down the to sump?
How is the skimmer working now, better or worse?
Did you feed your live rock? lol
What brand of all-inclusive test kit are you using? Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Master Test kit? How old is it?
What is the current salinity and temperature?

RT6 - you were concerned that this thread wasn't interesting. But I think this is one of the best threads going! Keep up the good work. I'm following along.

Oh....Melev - you are a saint. I'm sure RT6 is very grateful for your help.

I'm no saint. Half the time I feel like I'm pouncing on the original poster. :o

But this thread does give me reason to laugh from time to time, and I do hope that reeftanks6 doesn't get offended by my input.

If you were only pouncing on him, then he might be offended. But RT6 has been good humored and you've given him alot of direction. Everytime I read this thread it reminds me "nothing good happens fast in this hobby". I think RT6 will have TOTM by summer of 2020.

Alright guys well Everything is running great. I do have to fix some miner plumbing problems. As for the next step in THIS LONG PROCESS, i will either get the light or some rock and probably both at the same time. I did lift the inner box to the overflow did not help that much did a little i will raise it more though. As for the heater it is still up in the main tank and i do have a small one in the sump downstairs.

By lifting it a little, do you mean 1/8", 1/4" or an inch or two?

Wait, I already know the answer... it was an eigth, wasn't it?

"You're killin' me Smalls, you're killin' me.."

You didn't lift it up to "help much", you did it so that the box will retain the siphon. The way it was, it would very likely fail, and sooner than later at that.

ok thanks guys no updates right now. Everything is running great will be adding more rock soon and ordering the other things i need. Maybe this week or next week not sure yet.

Woke up this morining everything is great except the one plumbing error i have a leak in the drain pipe will fix it either today or tomorrow.

couple questions for you guys. Since i am going to have a reef tank then what kind of corals should i get. I am not very familiar with them. The kind of corals i want are LPS, SPS and then some zoos and like clams possibly.
