no like either wet skimming or dry skimming

Here's a better question: What is the difference, and how can you recognize it?

Melev what do you think on mixing up on some LPS, and SPS and maybe some clams and zoos. I will like to mix them after i do some easy corals because i am a beginner and is there any special requirements for them. I know there is light differences but like for food. I also know the placements and flow.

What resources are you turning to to read and learn about this hobby?

You really need to take a step back and read a good book, or at the very least work your way through my website's many pages to fill in some of the puzzle. Here's the book you need:

http://www.amazon.com/Reef-Aquarium...bs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201833789&sr=1-2

It costs $90, but shipping is free. It covers every single point you need to know about, and is perfect for any learning hobbyist. And yes, it is Vol 3 (not 1 or 2), that was not a mistake on my part.

I know money doesn't come easily for you, but if you'd get this book and start reading, you'd learn so much and your tank would flourish with excellent results.

lol melev yea goodl is my friend for sure.

So what is the difference between wet skimming and dry skimming? Did you read the link?

Part of the enjoyment of this hobby is learning how to do things. Asking questions without having an understanding of your tank system, equipment and animals is pointless. I would get that book and start reading. As of now. melev is setting your tank up for you. All you want to do is stock it. Adding corals at this point, is wasting money and marine life. I would learn now, or pay latter. This thread is 16 pages long and you still are not at the point of stocking. After reading this thread. It looks like you have ADD. Your all over the place with your thoughts and what you want to accomplish. I would take some time and think about that. I hope this was not a waste of time.

Melev thanks for the reply i pretty sure if i tell my parents mom can u get me this book then the might buy it for me. I am still reading the link you gave me melev. Not a waste of time scotmc sorry to get everybody off track.

Hopefully i can go get my rock today. I wish i could take the pictures of the process if i go get the rocks. I cant take pics because my camera is not working right. But if i do go and get the rock i will definitely try to fix it up to take the pics.

i think they say you should have like 2 or 3 lbs of rock per gallon of water in your tank. so you would want like 180 lbs or something? personally i dump the formula and go for what looks good!

Well If he is going to the LFS to get the rock Im guessing they charge around $7 dollars a pound at 180lbs thats about $1260 dollars. I think he will probably be going for the "dump the formula and go with looks good" scenario.
